As a male gamer this train of thought in the current day and age is absolutely unacceptable. Controversy created over a female beating a male is grounds to make the tournament gender specific?! That is absolutely absurd these are the kinds of things that make me lose faith in humanity more and more. Blizzard should be ashamed that their game is now synonymous with sexist trains of thought. I hope this issue is addressed or at the very least Blizzard never allows any of their products to be played at this venue. Gender equality in all things ladies and gentlemen especially in gaming women shouldn't be afraid to join the ranks of gamers and this site is a perfect example of women being able to compete, participate and contribute.

South Korea is now following along in the same footsteps...this is getting beyond comprehension.

Patriarchal societies, man. We need a revolution of sorts, because this shit is unacceptable.

I agree. So long as one's idea of a revolution against a patriarchal society is not to install a matriarchal one to replace it.

Just thought I'd point that out. Some people really do think a matriarchal society would be drastically different (as in, better), when it'd be merely a switch of positions.

Of course that's not what I mean. Just like feminism isn't supposed to be about hating men, but rather equality among men.

It's a horrible situation, but it's important to remember that this is an anomaly. Stuff like this is very rare in the fighting game community. That's why this is so shocking.

Sexism is still prevalent in the FGC in many scenes, but it's nothing on this scale. This is crazy.
