Can we nominate the sig we are currently using?

Sounds like a good idea, legoslayer. You weren't around back in the day, but we used to have a bunch of these. I recommend taking a look at old signature of the week (SOTW) competition threads for ideas on how to keep this thing going. It's a lot of work.

Don't remind me. It was a lot more fun and populous when DPs were given out for it.

I honestly just want people to vote for their favorite sig. I didn't look at EVERY one of the old SOTW threads, nor did I read every comment in those I did. I figured "They seemed to like it. Try to bring it back!"


If you want to do it, or don't want it done at all, go for it. It's all up to you, my friend, for how you want this done. I don't wnt to step to anybody else's territory.

There's no need to act like I have ownership over SOTW. I don't. I wasn't the first to run it and I surely won't be the last. I don't mind doing the lion's share of the work for it but at the same time I wouldn't have brought it back, left to my own devices... so what you're doing is a good thing, trust me. People want it back, clearly.

Here's the thing - the game has always thrived under having a rigid structure and that needs to continue if it's going to succeed. Set schedule, specific guidelines for entries, etc. Let's say for the sake of argument that we aim to start the first set of entries this coming Monday, which is entirely possible. You and I should take this to PM and discuss what we're going to add/subtract/edit in terms of rules and how we're going to set up themes and things like that. I think this place could use SOTW again.

But seriously, PM me some ideas and I'll look at it tomorrow once I'm off work. I'm beat right now and need to get to bed.

Revival of SOTW would be glorious. I do, in fact, know that it takes a lot of work, though. I really hope the two of you are able to get this thing going again. With the recent activity of the forums picking up due to recent mega-thread closures, I feel as though now is a better time than ever.

I feel like a good time to start up SOTW again would be when activity in the sig request thread starts to pick up. No point in holding a contest when there is no one making digs to begin with.

I don't have any authority on the matter, to be honest, but I'd like to ask very nicely to take this somewhere else please, MINION and m0s3pH. You can argue all you'd like over the private messaging system, but out of respect for the thread starter, legoslayer, I'd greatly appreciate that you guys continue this discussion in another place.

Meh, no need. I'm content with being proactive and helping to bring the game back, because it's a hole on this forum that needs to be filled.

Plans are in the works to bring SOTW back and with any luck it'll return on Monday. I am currently working with legoslayer to organize a clear and fair rule set so that the game can thrive. At this time, you may send me or legoslayer ideas for themes. Don't sweat it if yours doesn't get used right away - we'll be keeping a list of them and it'll have its turn.

Super excited for the return. Glad there are a couple of you working on how it'll go down, in order to split the work load.

Ya know, since I'm used to DPs being practically non existent in MKO, I wouldn't mind competing in SOTW. Hell I'd even help out. I'm getting a laptop on Friday so that gives me some chances to get da shop and on MKO. When this shit gets rollin again, let me know if you guys need help. You know how much everyone else and myself love SOTW. It'd be awesome to see it again in action.
