the movie was pretty good. the whole movie had a fast pace to it. there were some extended footage from the original silent hill added to this film. which helped the story. the monsters had sweet designs and the overall of the film had that creepy atmosphere. there was a scene at the very end of the credits. pyramid head had more screentime then the last film but the nurses had alot less screentime. there could be a 3rd movie with how it ended. really cool boss fight scene towards the end of the film.

overall i'd give this movie a 7.5 out of ten. don't really know much about the games because i only played them a liitle. looks like this film tried to follow silent hill 2, maybe 3.

the original i'd give a 7.0 out of ten.

anyone else plan on seeing it or just rent it.

I plan to see it. The movie follows the main character of Silent Hill 3.

There was a scene after the credits? Can you tell us what it was, I left after the cool 3D model credits.

I really enjoyed the movie. The monsters were awesome, particularly the mannequin spider, it's just a shame that part was so short.

I don't think the 3D really added to the movie but it definitely didn't take anything away from it. I found myself trying to bat away ash a few times lol.

Although it's received a lot of hate online I loved the

Pyramid Head Vs Missionary fight
.

I also liked the ending with

the trucker referencing SH: Origins and the prison bus referencing SH: Downpour. I might be wrong if they weren't referring to those games.

I think this was much better than RE: Retribution, I love the RE movies but that one was just corridor, fight, corridor, fight. It lacked any story. IMO of course.

I hope SH:R does well in the long run, it deserves it.

to answer your question mkdfan all it was pyramid head walking around dragging his weapon. nothing really special but it was nice suprise that there was anything after the credits.

also i got to say that the spider doll was my fav part to. wish it would have had longer screentime.

glad you enjoyed the film mkdfan.

I didn't enjoy the spider doll scene. "We were just some supermodels and we took a wrong turn in the fog." It was just a waste of characters. And a lot of the monsters seemed to just be there for no reason. I didn't like all of the computer generated effects. The first movie was epic because there was so much makeup, and for this one they just got lazy. Although, the nurses looked amazing as usual. I thought the movie was kind of boring and disappointing. But I was pleasantly surprised to see that it connected to the first one. I thought that it would be following a different story.

ALSO. I hate when movies end the way this one did.

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
The beginning of the movie is Harry telling Heather "stay away from SIlent Hil!!!" And then of course, Heather goes to Silent Hill to save Harry. But then she saves Harry, and he says, "I am staying." So basically, Harry didn't need to be saved and Heather never needed to go to Silent Hill. Big waste of a movie.

I didn't like the Mortal Kombat fight at the end either.
