Hey guys, not been around in a while (doubt anyone will ever remember me) but yeah...
Crysis 2...released the last week or so.
Out of interest, what's everyone's thoughts on the game so far?
From my own personal view point, I'd have to say it's one of the best FPS's in today's market that has been dominated by the likes of CoD and Halo. Although it doesn't do much to redefine the genre, it certainly did a good job of standing out from the others.
Anyway, enough of my rambling, over to you guys!

I have Crysis 2, am about half way through it. Have to say I'm impressed for the most part but also turned off by all the glitches I've encountered.
The graphics are one of the best on the market for consoles. The city buildings and skyline look incredibely detailed. The gameplay is very solid, it's definitely not a run and gun game, you really have to use strategy before you approach enemies.
The sandbox approach is very good though at times it still feels linear IMO. You don't get too many weapon options, but what's good is that you can customize them. I've encountered a very annoying bug where you have this rocket launcher called the "jaw" and for some reason I can not reload the ammo, even though it says I have 5 clips in inventory. I've found out that this is a common bug and they are aware of it. Another thing that makes the game look bad is the AI will often get stuck walking in the same spot, not being able to move anywhere else. But usually the AI is smarter than that. The aliens look great in the game, as do their fancy equipment.
I'd say this game is not for everyone or the casual gamer. You have to really get used to the machanics of the game and have a stealthy approach towards gameplay. Play your cards right, scan enemies and weapons, go in for mele kills whenever possible. Once spotted, go crazy or run and hide because you WILL have to.
Overall great game, wish there was a save whenever you want option but instead when you die you are forced to start from your last checkpoint, and other than the many glitches this game has, still a great game. I give it a 8/10.

I started it on Normal and completed it on that solely to take in the story; it was certainly an impressively well done story (for an FPS, at least) that shocked me quite a bit. The soundtrack is absolutely superb as well!
But yeah, I know what you're on about. I got the odd glitch where I'd power jump into a small crevice and end up 'grinding' against some wall or fence, that was annoying as hell. Bar that, I struck lucky, I guess?
Furthermore, I do enjoy the way the game plays. Admittedly, my first play through I must have only used the Tac-vision/assessment mode for the first half of the game and all guns blazing for the other half. I've since started again on Superhuman difficulty.
The difficulty itself has perfectly highlighted the non-linear aspects in a fairly linear game - the choice of stealth or assault is highly compelling and it's making some otherwise dull sections into outstanding moments of ingenuity and compromise.
I also have to comment on the multiplayer. In my own view, I think it is a fantastic mash-up between Call of Duty and Battlefield Bad Company 2. It has the slow, sluggish-but-powerful feel of BC2 while it somehow retains the frantic pace of Call of Duty (I hate COD, FYI!)
All in all, I would definitely give this game a 9/10. First FPS where brains are needed instead of "HURR PULL TRIGGER SHOOT AND HURL GRENADE!" Something all too common in todays world...
