To anybody who was one of the lucky to have been involved with this community in its prime, I need not even tell you because you already know. Socom2 was hands down, the most addictive, enjoyable and thrilling experience of anything I came across in my gaming life.
This was literally a daily ritual for a good 5 years of my life. And part of me just hungers for a PS3 re-release after socom2's downfall with "code9" or similar names. Essentially the ability to used cheats or use hacks online.
Now I've been looking into this. And I have heard that the Ico Collection HD happened in some part as a result to the online playstation voting system with strong support from users. Only registered PSN users can vote so the numbers are legit. From what I hear. Ico had about 12,000 votes. Socom2 HD is around 10,800 as of this post.
I'm literally asking you all who have PSN, for a personal favor. Vote "Yes" on the page linked below and lend your votes. The majority of the entire following of the classic Socom franchise have been on their knees BEGGING for this since the release of Socom3.
Lets do our part.

Even if you don't care and will never play. 30 seconds of your day to give to a cause that would make thousands extremely happy and give us back the game that only fell because of hardware inferiority. I personally would be very touched along with the other 10,000+ who want this so much that they make efforts to search and vote for it.
Socom2 STILL maintains a few hundred players in North-America at any given time. A core group of dedicated and honour-based people. The honesty of playing fair and dedication to the game that we all loved keeps it all going. Much like the community it had in its prime. People that 98% of the time did not resort to "noob tubes", even in the face of losing a clan war. The people who always said "great game" even after a loss. Congratulating each other on certain kills, hiding spots, tactics and strategies. The user-conjured clan war system, fishing in lobbies with "2v2" over and over again. Knowing each side picks a map and side, with the tie-breaker being crossroads or bitter jungle, the team with more wins choosing their side. All topped off with hilarious arguments over banning the "IW-80-A2" from seals or banning the "m14" on both sides. How Enowapi or Sujo are easy wins, and then picking them with the crippled side and battling to victory. Jeeze I want this back!
Gets me ready to play again just talking about it.
Take a minute of your day, help us out. Who knows, you might get hooked.
Lets get this done. So one day soon, we can all hear the words "green up!" once again.
Here's some S2 videos for your pleasure to know what we are all missing.

A Clan i was actually a part of for a bit but left.

About Me
Dedicated, hopeless...Li Mei fan.

Done. The SOCOM franchise has gone to complete shit since SOCOM2. Confrontation was a buggy and unplayable mess. SOCOM4 just straight up isn't SOCOM.

I liked Socom on the PSP. Didn't give it much of a pass otherwise. I'm not really into brown & bloom "shootan" games.
I voted for Ico. Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Everyone needs to play those games once.
And then you need to spend at least 6 months not playing them. To reflect.

Its worth the time to play. Even to go back to S2 now.
If we even get a few votes. at least we made progress. Please dont hesitate guys.
