James Jackson, a Vice President of Legal Affairs at Sony Pictures, has been ordered to pay Nena Ruiz, a former maid, $850,000. The reason? Mr. Jackson enslaved Nena, he forced her to stay against her will, and he beat her. Somehow he still found the kindness in his heart to pay her $300 a year for her troubles.

So maybe Mr. Jackson can claim legal ignorance , I mean afterall, how much to VP's of legal affairs even know about the law?

Of course, some(see below) must think the courts are being too hard on him, after all poor people don't deserve help out of poverty
