posted09/23/2004 05:58 AM (UTC)byGamespot has the first news about the new slim down PS2. Here are the pics.Slimdown PS2 It will effectively replace the current model thats out, and will sell for the same price. It also has a built in ethernet port. I'm just curious about the Hard drive that sony released, since it doesn't look like it will fit in the new design.

Sony also reported that there is actually a thread like this... which was posted yesterday... and actually HAD pics in it.

It benefits to check the date your source was released and if its not the same day as you are posting, then chances are someone already caught it.

I love the new look to it. And as I said in the last thread made about this, I'm sure many people, including me, knew it was very possible before the idea was brought up. I for one have opened my PS2 on a number of times before just calling up the company to get it fixed, and noticed that only half of the body was used for the system and the rest was for the practically useless HD.
lmao... that'd be great... the controller would be like, what? less than the size of your fingernail??
seriously tho, if the x-box were to go 'mini' it'd have to remove the built-in harddrive and probably 2 of the controller ports (which would actually make it lose some of its appeal)... perhaps instead of making it smaller, Microsoft should work on making it less ugly

I'm sure it's possible. Take small form factor PC's. Built specificly for gaming. Everything is pact extreamly tight. The same with alienware laptops which use pretty much the same commponents as a PC, with the exception of the graphics card. So I'm sure it would be posible for Microsoft to make a smaller Xbox. I'd just really like it to be lighter, god dam thing is way to heavy to be lugging back and forth between rooms.
