Soul Calibur 5 New Nightmare

I'm worried and i hope they don't go this route. I PRAY that im SOOO wrong about this...
Okay if anyone of you has been following Soul Calibur 5 since last year... you know about characters stories and who has been confirmed and what not.

In Soul Calibur... my main is Nightmare with Siegfried as my second.

Now to cover the background on why i came up with this...

In Soul Calibur 3 we learned that Zasalamel gave Nightmare a new body.. and Siegfried finally because a free man at last. Awsome!

Nightmare having a body in Siegfriend likeness made it even more awsome.
But unfortunately the body Zasalamel gave Nightmare was unstable...

The epic showdown between Siegfriend and Nightmare caused a storm that shatter both there bodies, killing them both.

In Soul Calibur 4 we learn that the body of Nightmare was rebuilt by Soul Edge after aquirring all the fragments. So this is the first time we learn that Soul Edge has the power to create it own host. Not only that... Siegfried gets resurrected by Soul Calibur as well.

So both weapons have this gift, then theres no need to possess a host of another... when Soul Edge can create its own body?

But heres where i also question the outcome....

SC4 Nightmare was able to resurrect because it somehow gathered all the fragments.
In Soul Calibur 5.. They don't have all the fragments

So the safe assumption is that SC4 Nightmare made a backup body at some point and buried it beneath the castle...

Or... was it a slain Sophitia?

Now on to my wacked theory.

Why Sophitia you ask? She and Siegfried both have a strong connection with Soul Edge. Both her and Siegfried have long hair, there heights are identical.
If you notice that the new Nightmare comes off a bit leaner.

Sophitia, she is in this game! But she is the most tight lipped character related to the storyline... The game comes out this month and we haven't see or heard anything on her yet...

In one of the earlier trailers last year Patroklos says at the end of the trailer... "Goodbye Mother..."

Now this line hints to her departure from the series.. but how?

What do we know about Sophitia...
She's fighting to protect Soul Edge... Why?
Because apparently Soul Edge is keeping Pyrrha alive...
How? i don't know... Apparently a voice inside Sophitia head told her that if she wanted to keep her daughter alive. Soul Edge must live. So she decided to battle anyone hunting after the sword.

Now from here... we don't know what went down with Sophitia because Siegfriend is the champion again in slaying Nightmare... So did Siegfried slay Sophitia in the tower? Was she at the tower or at the castle?

In SC2 or SC3 it mentions how much Nightmare desire her strong soul... Because Nightmare desire her strenght to fuel him.

Maybe at the castle... she was slain and her body perserved until the fragments were gather to make her the new nightmare?

So whats your take on this... is this theory too far fetched?

Are you saying that Sophitia is the new Nightmare?
I'm saying with the current knowledge that she COULD be... but i hope im wrong.

I thought i read somewhere that Sophitia's son was the new nightmare... altho he's a playable too... so maybe not? She is supposedly the protector of Soul Edge... so she might be.... or it could be Pyrrha... since she doesnt know her fam and grew up alone and whatnot...
Idk... i think it would b cool if she was! kind of an interesting twist.

Nightmare's already been confirmed as male and Sophitia (according to Patroklos's bio) was killed:

I suppose it could secretly be a woman under that armor, but she'd be rather beefy (and flat chested) to be Sophitia. The most common rumor I've heard is this new Nightmare is Hilde's missing father:

Maybe - just maybe - it is the original Nightmare's apprentice, Daydream.
Seriously though, it would be quite cool to find out that the new Nightmare would be female. I have stopped playing SoulCalibur since SCII but this new SoulCalibur might reawaken my interest towards the series if it proves to be significantly better than SCIV. I played SCII 100% over. Will the game have guest characters like its predecessors again?

I liked part four. What isn't there to like about part four?

It's time for Altair/Ezio/Desmond to get into a fighting game. There isn't necessarily anything that pushes me away from it but there just isn't enough interesting content to pull me in at this age.
If I was ten years younger, I would probably be all excited for it. Nowadays there are just too many games to choose from, more things to do in life than back then and with Mortal Kombat around, I just can't think going back to SCIV. This new SC, on the other hand, might be another story.

Extremely unsatisfying story mode (especially compared to SC3's), no created character classes, no Chronicles of the Sword. The whole game felt thin and repetitive.

2 other reasons why the new Nightmare is almost certainly not Sophitia or Kilik:

- The new Nightmare is 5'10", a good 4 inches taller than either Sophitia or Kilik.

- Soul Edge takes the form of whatever its host's preferred weapon style was. If the new Nightmare was Sophitia it would be wielding a short sword & shield. If Kilik it would be using a staff. Just like it took the form of a pair of swords when Cervantes was its host.

Very good point, but when Nightmare took a life of his own he kept the big claymore. I woudlnt be surprised if his personality was strong enough to overwhelm the host. Or that its just by himself after all.
I doubt he's kilik.... but i wouldnt COMPLETELY discard the idea.
Theres a slip up on nightmares bio

on the japanese site and the facebook it labels nightmare at 5'10 but on the american site it claims that he 5'6 hmm http://soulcalibur.com/en_US#/characters/soulcalibur5/nightmare

Nightmare doesnt have boobs. Its a dude... oh well... there go my theories hahaha.

Is it too late to ask for Olcadan back btw?

Yep, game's already gone gold and will be hitting American store shelves in 13 days. Those is suppose its slightly possible he'll be an alt costume for Edgemaster, the mimic player of this game (or makeable via create-a-character).

Remember there is that "Legendary Souls" mode where Harada and Soul Edge/Inferno play.

Might not be impossible for Olcadan to come back.

Also DLC.
