I'd agree, however The Neptunes, DJ Premiere and Kanye West are the exceptions to what's going on today in the industry.

It's pretty bland and recyclable these days. sad

It's an audio file usually used to store songs. The file size is low but the quality is usually shit. You can almost always tell a midi file when you hear one. It doesn't really sound like real instruments at all.

Here's an easy way to tell what a Midi file is Outworld_222. Cell phones have 'songs' as ringers now. Either your 'ringer' sounds like some shitty copy of the song, or the song sounds real. The shitty ones are Midi's.

I totally agree. There used to be originality in the 80s and 90s ever since MTV was launch. Now music basically aint worth it. It is all recyclable. The mileenium for music has gotten off to a very bad start.

I see blade tsung. I have first hand experience what youre talking about. My 50 cent ringtone on my sprint phone sounds like crap. so...there you go. Good explanation.

Damnit Hyuga, stop flooding the forum with trash.

hehe j/k tongue

I've heard some horrible midi file rap songs that sound absolutely nothing like the original. My friend has a really good version of "Frontin'" by Pharell on his phone, most of the other ones sound like shit, they sound like NES music.

Hahaha, MIDI files. Heh. Never saw that coming.
I'm forced to make MIDI files for Klik N Play for music since they don't support MP3 files or stuff like that.

That's my point. Listen to the real album version of Rubber Band Man. The BG music he raps over sounds like a midi file.

Umm, according to your explanation, wouldn't the song (ringtone) on your cell NOT be a Midi?? confused

BTW, I agree with ghostdragon when it comes to The Neptunes. Pharrell, Chad, and Shae rulez!!

P.S. Hyuga, didn't you mean "Stupid, pointless topics" week? wink

P.P.S. Hey kids, don't forget to post in my "Tomato, tomahto: What's YOUR stance?" thread smile

Go to Clickteam.com and download a trial version of "The Games Factory". It allows for a lot more and it runs exactly like Klik n Play, it can even open Klik n Play game files. You can put in MP3s, MIDI, CD audio, ect with it.

I personally love MIDIs because I grew up listening to the beeps and blips of the ol 8bit NES so I love that crappy sound. But if they're using it as an actual record release, then what the hell?

Yea, heh sorry if it confused anyone. Basically I was trying to break down the difference between Polyphonic and Midi tones. Most if not all 'new' phones have the better ringers, the older ones have the Midi's.

I think TI would question most of Hyuga's artistic decisions as well...

The "low quality" BG is due to The "struggle" implemented by the rubber bands...

I hate this song Not cuz of MIDI's but cuz it mainstreamed Rubber band wearing as cool... I been doing it For 7 Years!!! MAN!!
