Eh, I was never a big fan...I just don't usually like movies where people pretend to be someone they're not, and end up making asses out of themeselves trying to play through screwups in ways that would never work in reality.

I had a friend who loved the movies, though; his dream car was the Delorean.

There were some funny moments in the movies, though. Also a line from the first one is used as an intro sample in a song by Eighteen Visions, one of my favorite bands. Michael J. Fox is talking to the Doc in the past, and says "Heavy," and Doc says, "Heavy? Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the earth's gravitational pull?" It's fitting for the song, which is pretty, well, heavy.

I have the series on video. And yes, I thought the 3rd movie was okay. I never really liked the 2nd though. Their 2015 was way too futuristic, even for the '80s. The alternate 1985 eerily looks like reality now, however.

But enough of that. I don't mean to be a dick, but there's LOTS of things very wrong with these movies with regards to internal logic and time travel theories.

[start babble]
Just a small example for starters... in the 3rd movie, the 1955 Doc discovers the grave of his 1985 self who died in 1885. If he knows this in 1955 (technically before he dies), then why would he still build the time machine? Suppose that this doesn't even matter, that from here there'll be a diverging timeline which plays no role for Marty getting back to 'his' 1985, still it doesn't make sense because the movies do assume time is linear: at the end of the 1st movie the 1985 Doc has the letter Marty gave him in 1955... Anyway, there are numerous other examples where it all gets mangled up.
[/babble]

VQ

Part 2 is my fav, followed by part 1, then part 3. In all, a very enjoyable movies. I remember a rumor back in the late 90s ,that there would be a Back to the Future 4 ,but whats his name got sick. Of course it was never fact, but never the less I would have liked to see another one.

Dr. brown's last time machine did run on steam, it was a steam Train if you remember and had to run on steam as he was still in 1885 no electricity then, it was like the Delorean, that ran on gasoline for the engine, it was the same for the train except that was steam powered so there could have been one in every home if he wanted to build them.

As for the Movies i liked all of them, i have the trilogy on DVD and watch them when i get time, which is'nt very often. i especially like the future they created for num 2, i allways wanted the jacket that dried it's self.
