Update March 9th.

Due to come out September 11th for the Nintendo Wii U. as Sept 13th is Mario`s 30th Anniversary!

Let`s you create your own Super Mario levels in four styles:
-Super Mario Bros.
-Super Mario Bros. 3
-Super Mario World
-New Super Mario Bros. U

Themes include: Overworld, Underground, Underwater, Castle, Airship, and Ghosthouse. All available in all game styles. Some enemies & props were even given new sprites to work in game styles they were`t in originally.

*EDIT: 100 levels in game was a typo, apparently there`s only ``dozens``, made by various people, including the creator of Rayman.
There`s a challenge mode called The 100 Mario Challenge.
When you create levels, you can share them online with other fans.
Custom Level select shows stages as World 1, 1-4, W2, 1-4, etc, like Mario 1.
All castles end in Mario 1 bridge w axe.

Can`t wait to get my hands on SUPER MARIO MAKER!!

I`m already working out some old ideas I had. I aim to make traditional, competent Mario levels, not that crazy stuff from the levels shown. Not a crazy ROM Hack or speedrun whatever. While I do get some of it, I`ve always liked exploring the levels, and the stories they tell, thanks to Mario 2, 3, and World`s expansive designs.

I understand there are some changes to the styles to make them more compatable. All castles end with a bridge & Axe, like Mario 1. You can make Mario 1 & 3 style Ghosthouses, and Mario 1 & World style Airships!

I don`t think there are secondary exits. I need the Key & Keyhole, and or the Powerball from Boom Boom in 3 & the Ghostship in World. It`s essential for one of my shipwreck levels, gives it a treasure scavenger hunt vibe exploring to find it.

One thing I didn`t see was slanted land, to make hills n slopes. Sliding down is impossible on blocky block stairs. Maybe I missed it.

I don`t think the White blocks from 3 are in, the Blue & Pink ones are. You could duck on them to go behind the scenery, and the Fence in Mario World had a door that would take you to the other side of the fence, essentially the same thing.

I`m assuming we won`t be able to use every enemy. Boom Boom, Chargin Chuck, Koopalings, Sumo Bro, Reznor, Dino Rhino n Mini, Rex, Rip van Fish, Buster Beetle & Grab Blocks, and I don`t think Yellow & Blue Koopas are in. Blue ones would kick their shell, and Yellow ones became near invincible homing shells, when they climb back in after ejection.

Even with the understandable limitations, this is still THE most exciting news I`ve heard in a while. Mario started me on this path, it was a big part of my life. The crazy stuff you can do now is just amazing, and random, and fun.
I`m very excited to return to my roots.

Other enemies I haven`t seen are Spike, Nipper Plants, and Ptooie, Boomerang Bros, Fire Bros, the square saws, Hot Head & Lil Sparky, Blaarg, Firesnake, and Flamechomp, Lava Lotus & Volcano Lotus, swooper, Bony Beetle...

Needs other Overworld themes: Sky, Forest, Night, Ice, Beach, Desert, etc...
Oh, the Black n White levels from World 8 in Mario 3. Underground themes, like: Mine, Sewer, Ice Cave...

I haven`t seen water in any stage but underwater. What about waterfalls from pipes, and stuff, like in 3? What about the lava, does it only line the bottom of the screen, or can we have varied levels?

White Blocks from 3 are present, but it`s unknown if the behind the scenery effect is in. Still waiting to see fencing, and climbable rope.

I`ll give a helpful hint to my fellow creators, and say we may have to use the Conveyor Belt as Tank Treads...

I also wanted to do something they were missing in 3, Submarine themed underwater tank level. But we don`t know if water can be placed in non-underwater levels.

They made a Hammer bros for each gametype, why not add the Hammer bros Suit powerup? The Buzzy Beetle, n Spiny Helmet is neat though, I wonder how they differ.

Thinking of doing an original Donkey Kong stage, with Lakitu throwing Spiny down the ramps. OriginalMario(the battle minigame in 3) with Koopas n Spiny spawning pipes. Tetris theme, with block arrangments dropping off open rails... <3

SUPER MARIO MAKER
I can understand why they don`t have water available, as giant enemies can break the usually unbreakable blocks, and they`d need to program water flow mechanics, so the water wouldn`t just float in the air, like blocks do...
Though it does in Super Mario 3D World...

They could program the blocks lining the bottom, and sides of the water & lava to be unbreakable. Then we can have lava suspended in the air by ice blocks.

I'm incredibly excited for this game. One of my most wanted games of all time. I can't wait to create levels, and I can't wait to see what others create.

That being said, I wonder whose idea it was to release a game about building on September 11th. Odd choice...
September 13th is Mario`s 30th Anniversary, Friday the 11th is the last business day before the Anniversary.

Yoshi can be used in Castles, Airships, and Ghosthouses.
Yoshi can stand on Thwomps, Spikes, Munchers like he could in SMW, and maybe Lava. Not sure if that was just low ground I saw in an old vid...
No colored Yoshis, but Wings item lets him fly.**Edit: Yoshi can`t be given wings, and thus can not fly.
Eating Fire lets Yoshi spit 1-3 fireballs, depending on the type of fire he eats. Rocket engine, Phodobos, Bowser`s Fireballs... **Edit: When Yoshi eats a Drybones, he can spit the bones out! Spiny & Buzzy Beetle get spit out like shells too.

I'm so excited for this game as well!

The only thing I would had love is if they had included Super Mario 2. I know that one is completed different, but adding it in with some changes would had been great. Plus it would feel like a brand new game. For example instead of Koopa Troopas as enemies you would have Shy Guys. etc

I think it would be so cool if the Super Mario 2 style would become DLC. That would be fantastic!

Sweet, we can officially designate boss fights.
Which boss theme would play in 3 style, Boom Boom, Koopalings or Bowser?

Mushroom triggers Bonus music!
I`m guessing this`ll be Penny Heaven theme in SMB 1 & 3.

Some interesting stuff there, footsteps & beating heart effect for suspense, magical warp(skew effect also effects music.

Super Mario Maker - All Game Styles & Level Themes + Creator Music (Airships, Ghost Houses, & more!)
Not ALL props, some can be layered for differing look, others have shakable alts.

Not ALL, there`s some shakeable alt versions not shown, like the bridge in World has a yellow alt with railing.

10 & 100 Mario Challenge is ``Story`` mode. Stage number depends on difficulty level maybe, but you advance on a ``map`` towards a castle where the Princess may or may not be... Levels seem to be random, within a difficulty. Map musics are World`s overworld theme for 10 Mario Challenge, and Mario 3`s world 1 map theme for 100 Mario Chalenge, not sure of difficulty, but Expert has different music.

Spiny abilities
- Upsidedown ones will drop n spin, like in 3. Hope it`s for all styles. Buzzy beetle does this too.
- Winged Spiny will curl up n shoot 4 spikes diagonally, then horizontally n vertically.

Helmet differences
- Spiny Helmet kills Ghosts n Thwomps, Buzzy Beetle Helmet they bounce, n fall again. Buzzy Helm also stops fireballs. Spiny Helmet breaks normally unbreakable blocks, and destroys ? blocks, instead of activating them.

Oh, FYI, the stage called Mappy is based on an NES game, called Mappy, that involved trampolines. I`ve played it on a 31 in 1 cart.

- Every Costume In Super Mario Maker [YouTube] [Spoilers?]

Mario Maker has a TON of awesome costumes--take a look! Level created by: Jirard.

Wow! Didn't really expect to see all the crossovers.
You don`t have to play for 9 days or reset your WiiU clock.
I unlocked everything just playing all day yestrada. The sets get dilivered early if you keep playing after the next day announcement.

I have 3 levels made:

- Lui-Gon vs Darth Mario (SMB1 style)
It`s based on the area past the hangar on Naboo, where Qui-Gon & Obi Wan fought Darth Maul.
There are 2 ways to get the axe, both simulate Obi Wan jumping over Maul.
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
1st Doughnut Block past the Burner hall leads to a door that exits above Axe, if getting P-Switch is too hard.


- Proxy Reznor Fight (SMW Style)* I Removed the original, see next page.
Using giant Fire Pirana`s on Rotating Blocks on a octagon track.
Ride the blocks up to the axe.

- Tank Bridge (SMW Style)
Made a tank level, Boss chamber is Bowser Jr, with Magikoopa on track above Rotating Blocks

I`ll have to look up the ID codes to post.

Just a question how do i unlock, Super Mario Bros 3 & World. I got. Super Mario Bros an New Super Mario Bros U. Help would be a appreciated. smile
Keep messing around in Course Maker for several hours.
Stuff kept getting delivered as I was trying to build a level.

4th level made:
- Guarded Cargo (SMW Style)
Airship partially based on a level I used to make in Paint with Mario sprites.

I mentioned above, with more assets it`d be a shipwreck, scavenger hunt type level.

If you didn`t catch your level ID when you uploaded it, you can check by going to Course World, Makers, and click your Mii pic in the upper left corner. Your level list will say ID under the smaller thumbnail. Click on ID to view it`s ID cade.

Just a question how do i upload my courses to the internet? smile
Your Mii has to be registered in the Miiverse thing on the console.
Then when making a course, click on the CourseBot, and Upload should be under Save, New Save.
When you click Upload, it`ll prompt you to play your level, as you need to beat it before it completes or registers the upload.


What I`d like to know is, where do I input people`s stage IDs to play them?

As soon as you make your course, click on the robot, and save, hit upload and it will ask you to complete the course first before it uploads. It will upload and give you a series of numbers after it uploads
OK, so you put in other`s ID numbers on the Course World screen.
There`s a magnifying glass icon in the upper left, under the Main Menu icon.

I made this before the Moving Castle.
First screen is normal size, several pipes lead to second area with giant enemies. 1st, and last pipes, and a few in between.

Played Mick & torchia`s stages last night.
