So, news of this has already been out for a while but I thought about discussing opinions and such here.

Anyone a fan of the series? I enjoy spending a lot of time making houses even though I hardly have any sims move in there. And I greatly appreciate how the third allows more tiles to place items on, as well as a better way to design your character.

What are your thoughts about having another Sims that will be coming out in 2014?

The Sims is a guilty pleasure of mine. I look forward to hearing about the new Sims game. One thing I don't like is making houses. It's so time consuming. Lately on Sims 3 I've been making video game characters as Sims. So far I've made:

Kratos (God of War)

Jin Kazama (Tekken)

Ling Xiaoyu (Tekken)

Kratos got settled in and married a woman named Roxy Nelson. Jin and Ling and a happy young couple. I plan to make Nathan Drake and Lara Croft as a couple sometime in the future. Nariko will be made as well.

Yes I did. grin

I am intrigued with two things that they improved from the third one.

1. The sims have more humanistic behavior such as how they get angry, bored, sad. Granted that they had something like that in the third, this one is more played out rather than just seeing their emotions through a moodlet.

2. Building is going to be a lot easier now.

Can't wait for more showing off.

The Sims are in the bottom of my radar when it comes to life-sim games. I'm more of a fan of Animal Crossing myself, with Harvest Moon being my number 2 (Especially "A Wonderful Life" on the PS2 [if I remember it's name right])

So, with that said, I have tried Sims, and it just doesn't feel right for me. I'd definately say it's my number 3, considering that few life-sim games really excel. Those listed above are the big 3 in this style of game.

I really do hope they include a fantastic online mode, regardless of the blunder that was Sim City's online launch. It would change the entire game.

Imagine having a klepto trait, walking into a friend's house (who should have to invite you in), stealing their TV, and hauling ass.

Or letting your kid sims have sleepovers at one another's.

Or sneaking into the neighbour's swimming pool.

Now imagine all of this happening to your sim, by someone else!

It would be so fun.

That would be a lot of fun actually.

Damnit, why is it a 2014 release? Better not freeze myself in the mountains and get lost in time afterwards...

Just a shame they're probably going to nickel and dime us to death with extra hair and stuff.

I miss the days of The Sims 2 when users created that stuff for free.

I do like that they are going for emotional depth this time around.

I still just cannot get over how more in depth they made the create a sim mode is. Finally, we can make them look like real humans for once by modeling their entire bodies like clay, as the example they constantly make.

I'm a huge fan of the series myself. I'm more into the gameplay than designing houses. I like the gameplay of Sims 2 more. I'll play 3 occasionally, but only if I'm desperate. I don't know, guess i'm just a little old school.

As for Sims 4, I may try it out unless EA Games screws that up too. Cross fingers!

One thing I hope they do this time around is allow my Sims to be able to live in the same city.

In The Sims 3, I've got 3 families. And none of them live in the same city, which sucks because they can't interact with each other. In The Sims and Sims 2 Pets they could all live in the same city. Haven't played Sims 3 Pets so I'm not sure if they had that in there too or not.

For Sims 4, I plan on making multiple video game characters. It would be cool if they could all know each other without having to make them live in the same house.

Your sims can all live in the same city in The Sims 3. You just can't control them all at the same time. Each time you want to switch households, you relinquish control of your current household, and they continue to live their lives without your help.

That's weird. Because right now I've got 3 families and they've never met. And they can't meet. Technically they all live in Moonlight Bay but they don't know the other families I've created exist. Of course they are all on different save files.

You referring to PC version or Console version? Or does it even matter?

I am referring to PC. However, the reason it doesn't work is because they are all on different save files.

In the past, each save file was it's own family. For The Sims 3, each save file is its own world. You can switch between your active family only within that particular world.

I found this out today, and I'm stunned that during the amount of time I've played the Sims, just The Sims, I've never noticed this death.

I'm sure we've all gotten a kick out of trapping out Sims in the pool or putting them in a small room and having them fire a firework... But there was one death that I never caught.

The skydiving death. Have your sim play in the skydiving simulator and block the entrance of it. Their death is freaking hilarious. He/She'll will start flying out of the area and start panicking but then out of the blue, when they skyrocket to the heavens, they scream: WEEEEE!

I couldn't stop laughing at this and I'm irked that I never saw this before.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, here's the link to what I'm talking about.

It's been awhile. Today a new video showing Create a Sim was shown.

Create a Sim trailer

Looks very intuitive and a lot easier to manage.

Article

Above is an article that discusses about how toddlers and pools will NOT be included in the base game and people are raging about it already. There's already a petition going on with over 60,000 (I think) signatures.

I, for one, don't mind it at all. I don't create toddler sims as well as I don't really make too many pools. The reaction is hysterical, as much as all the complaints I've seen so far with Mortal Kombat, I think this might be worse. (I mean, I have yet to hear a petition going on for something with Mortal Kombat X)

So, what do you think?

I don't care for pools and toddlers, but when something's fucked up people have the right to be mad. Toddler is a part of the life cycle, I mean no pools? Fine. But how are you not going to include a part of a Sim's life?
