I don't know if this has been done or not, but I kind of want to start a thread about past movies, upcoming movies, movies you all recommend/ don't recommend, movies/trailers you just saw that you hated or loved and can't wait to get your opinion out there. Perhaps even some spoilers here and there (hidden of course). Just something that will get people talking and perhaps spark interest in certain movies people haven't seen yet or don't even know exist!
So yeah these are movies I really want to see:
June:
Snow White and The Huntsman (check)
Brave
Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter
July:
The Dark Knight Rises ( I need to see Anne Hathaway!)
September:
Resident Evil 6 or 5? watever...just seeing it cuz saw the others, might rent this instead...
October:
Silent Hill Revelation ( I'm such a huge fan of the SH series unless you haven't guessed and i'll admit I really liked parts of the 1st movie. I do feel this one is going to be a disaster though... hopefully I'm wrong.)
November:
Breaking Daw...just kidding WRECK-IT RALPH!
i'm sure there's a lot of movies I missed. I'm debating whether I want to see MIB3. I've heard good reviews, but I'm still iffy. OH yeah, KILL BILL VOL. 3 FTW!!! whenever that comes out...

Men in Black 3 was surprisingly really good. Maybe it was just 'cause I went in expecting it to suck like 2, but it actually turned out to be kind of a touching character study of the relationship between J and K as friends and partners. And most of the jokes were actually funny, that certainly helps with a comedy flick.

To add to your list:
June:
Ted - June 29

The Amazing Spiderman - July 3
August:

Prometheus was pretty good.
The only movies I'm actually looking forward to this year are:
The Dark Knight Rises - because I really want to see how Anne Hathaway fares as Catwoman.
Ted - because I'm slightly obsessed with Mark Wahlberg.
Other than that, I'll pick as I go. I must say, though, I really enjoyed Dark Shadows. Started off slow, but got better and better as it went along.

hmm I might give MIB3 a try then. I completely forgot about Amazing Spider-man, I want to go see it, but I'm still on the "It's still to early to do a reboot" bandwagon. I might go see it for Emma Stone. I love me some Emma Stone.
Am I the only one annoyed with all the Paranormal Activity movies? Why are they making another one, I guess for profit I suppose and people really like them.
I also forgot I really want to see the Great Gatsby, The Hobbit, and Monsters Inc. 2 ( the last one i'm a bit iffy about cuz the plot sounds so generic -_-)
Edit: They're already making a sequel to Amazing Spider-Man. Wow, that was fast!

Silent Hill: Revelations
The Amazing Spider-Man
Prometheus
Wreck-It Ralph
The Hobbit
Those are some movies I'm really looking forward to. I'm iffy on The Dark Knight Rises, but I'll probably end up going to see it anyways. I don't think it will do as good story wise.

From what I heard it sticks more closely to the origins of Spiderman, rather that the more popular story-line Raimi's trilogy used.
I guess it was originally Stan Lee's idea to use organic web shooters in Raimi's trilogy because it made it more noob friendly for moviegoers to grasp the concept. The recently released Avengers though shows that movie makers don't have to hold moviegoers hands with the story in explaining everything.

Good points. I also heard it was based more on the comic books, so if that;s true, they're might be some controversy over Gwen Stacy. I will admit I haven't seen The Avengers yet and probably won't. I'm not a big fan of superhero movies (says the guy who wants to see TDKR)
On a side note, they're making MONOPOLY and CANDYLAND movies!?! Really Hollywood, what's next OPERATION? APPLES TO APPLES? SNAKES AND LADDERS? ( although the last one I might watch if it featured Samuel L. Jackson)
Also is anyone willing to admit they saw the Battleship movie? And if so, did they say, "You sunk my battleship" anywhere in the movie. It had to be too tempting to not include that line.

I need to get back into movie mode... It's really hard to do so during the summer. I'd rather be outside than watching movies.
I wouldn't mind seeing Prometheus, but I've been seeing so many people saying that it sucked, I might wait though.
Wreck It Ralph seems interesting, I'll go see it when it comes out and I'm a huge 007 fan so I'm definitely seeing that again. I need to find the Bond collection and watch some of the movies again.
I also wanted to see Snow White and the Huntsman, but I really don't like Kristen Stewart at all... And Rotten Tomatoes didn't give it a good review either.
Meh, I'd like to be a movie person again, I guess it won't happen until it starts getting colder outside.

I've actually heard that Amazing Spider-Man tampered with the origin in a kind of major way.
So as you may already know from the trailers, the movie's gonna sort of explore how Peter's parents died, and the version they're using is based on the Ultimate universe, where they were scientists killed by industrial espionage (I think the movie's gonna say Osborn did it). The science background will help explain how Peter invents the webshooters...and maybe will allow them to use the Ultimate version of Venom's origin in a sequel too. (Personally, I prefer the alien route, but I can see why filmmakers might want to shy away from space creatures in a Spidey flick, it doesn't necessarily fit in with the rest of the stuff he deals with...)
Well apparently the film's gonna reveal that

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
Peter's dad tampered with his DNA when he was little for some reason and that's why the spider-bite gives him powers.
So rather than getting his powers by happy accident, Peter was destined to become a superhero. Kinda robs the character of some of that "everyman" quality he's so famous for IMO.

Isn't that kinda how it went down for the Incredible Hulk?
I'm not a big Hulk or Spider fan, but they do seem similar in this case.

Ang Lee's Hulk actually, but yeah.
"Incredible Hulk" was the Ed Norton one where they used the origin from the old 70's TV show. That's the one that's canon to Avengers.

I thought "The Hulk" was canon to the Avengers too, because at the end of that, he lands in South America (I forgot which country), and "The Incredible Hulk" Starts at Brazil.....

No, the Brazil connection's sort of coincidental, Banner's origin in IH is completely different from the one in the Eric Bana/Ang Lee movie.
In Incredible Hulk, as shown in the opening credits and later explained to Blonsky by Gen. Ross, Banner was working on what he thought was a cure for radiation poisoning, but was secretly Ross's attempt at a new Super-Soldier Serum.
He gets in a big white chair like the one from the Bixby/Ferrigno TV show and deliberately zaps himself in the face with Gamma Rays because he was testing the serum. It turned him into the Hulk, his first rampage accidentally put Betty in the hospital, he had an argument with Ross who wants to use the Hulk as a military weapon, and he immediately went on the run.
Also, Ang Lee Hulk was made by Universal Studios. Only the movies made by Marvel Studios are canon to each other, and so far those are just Iron Man, IM2, Inc. Hulk, Thor, Captain America, and Avengers.
