Things You Were Late to the Party With.

We all have a few things that takes us forever to discover. A book series, a tv series, a video game, or even a type of food. So, what did you discover late? I have two examples


First, is Doctor Who. I had heard of Doctor Who when Sci-fi would run 10th Doctor re-runs, but I really didn't discover it until the 11th Doctor episode "A Christmas Carol." I decided to check it out due to a number of things; 1. Craig Ferguson and Chris Hardwick had talked the show up so much I thought I should give it a look, and B. "A Christmas Carol" is my favorite Christmas story. I watched the episode and I was utterly confused, but I loved it. Luckily, in preparation for the next season they began to air the entire 2005 series over again in chronological order. Ever since that day, I've been in love with it. Even now I have 221G of DW on my laptop and I'm listening to the 1st Doctor episode "The Snows of Terror."

Second, is Mass Effect. I did not discover Mass Effect until about a year after Mass Effect 2s release. My older brother bought me Mass Effect 1 for Christmas because he heard Mass Effect 2 was excellent (we have a rule about never starting on a sequel). Oh my GAWD I loved that series, I was utterly in love with the characters, especially Garrus ( who I viewed as my Shepard's closest friend) and Liara (my Shepard's love interest). And when I beat the ME3 extended edition, I was on the verge of crying, it was so beautiful.


Anyway, what were you late to discover?

The only thing I'm always behind on are movies.

Specifically The Expendables and The Avengers. I just seen the first Expendables movie a week ago. I didn't see The Avengers until 2 months later.

The Walking Dead! I absolutely love the franchise... Unfortunately, Missed out on the comic book series. sad

Same with Smallville. I missed almost every season except for the last 3 or 4. One of my Biggest Regrets!

You could say I was late to My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Became a Brony a week or so before the second season aired.

Doctor Who. Became a Whovian several months ago!

Minecraft. I never knew what Minecraft was until more than a few months ago. My brother got me addicted to it a month or two ago.

Lemony Snicket's: A Series of Unfortunate Events. All I know was that all 13 books were already out when I discovered this series.

That's all I can remember right now.

Definitely Doctor Who. I never really paid attention to the series until we watched Blink in one of my film classes. Then I was hooked.

And by the way everybody Doctor Who fan or not should see Blink. It is quite possibly the greatest episode of any tv show in history. Not even joking.

Wilfred...just started watching on Netflix...shit is hilarious. and Elijah Wood is definitely a looker so that's a bonus.

A lot Top 40 music. I usually don't get into songs until after they stop playing. I'm like that with a lot of things.

I tend not to like a lot of certain things if everyone else keeps hyping it up because I'm most likely going to end up being disappointed in the long run.

Case in point: The Hangover.

I did not laugh once.


And I suppose some books

Metroid. Only started playing games from the series around 2010... EDIT: - First one I played was Zero Mission; after that I did the Prime Trilogy. Still yet to do Super, and Fusion. Started Other M, but I couldn't take it after 5 minutes. *WHINE WHINE DADDY ISSUES*

Buffy & Angel, i only started watching Buffy after the last series ended. Now of course i love completely.

Reservoir Dogs, of course i was a small child when it first came out, but i was years behind seeing that.

Started watching Buffy after season 5 and Angel after season 2. So yeah, I was a little late to the party on those as well.

I also tend to be late to the party on most music. I always seem to hate music when I first hear it, and then I like it more and more later, usually after the hype around it has died down. It has nothing to do with who likes it or how many people like it, I just tend to be late to the party.

I didn't play Mortal Kombat 4 until the year 2000.

I never heard of Samus until I played Super Smash Bros.

I didn't get an Xbox until 2005.

I first saw the Nintendo DS in 2004, but I didn't actually notice it until 2007, the year I got one.

I didn't start watching Avatar: The Last Airbender until its final season.

I didn't start listening to Amy Winehouse until after she died.

I didn't know that Transformers was anything other than animals until the movie came out in 2007. Beast Wars was all I knew. How sad.

I've only beaten one mario game and that was when I got my first gameboy advance sp. Super Mario Bros 3. Game was the shit.

Really? I've got Skyward Sword in box and haven't played it yet, but really any of them? No Majora's Mask? No Wind Waker? No OCARINA OF TIME?!?!?!

getting a gamecube. (finally got one in 2012 from amazon.)

Getting a psp. (got one in 2010 from best buy.)

getting a X-box original. (got mine in early 2006 before they took it off shelfes from best buy.)

watching scarface. (only just saw it this year.)

knowing the names of current wrestlers in the wwe. still don't know most of the new guys/divas.

eminems new music. (perfer his old stuff way more.)

getting a job. (only got mine since last year.)

way to much to list right now. there's ton of stuff i've missed between comics,anime,music,tvs shows,films,games, and etc.
