Hi,

I just have this .ogg video file wich is uncompleted, only 91.5% (636MB from a total of 696)...

Since I can't find more sources to finish it fully (God, do I hate BitTorren), I was wondering if there was a way (software, codec) that I could watch exactly the already downloaded content while is possible?? I mean, it only plays 31 seconds of footage, then it stops. Is there a way??

Any help can be welcomed!

I'm gonna write this knowing full well that I may be totally off-base with this since the only knowledege I have of BitTorren is some info Shingo told me, but here goes anyway:

When I'm downloading "movies" from Ares, I normally like to preview it to make sure that I'm actually getting what I want. Ares (like Kazaa) has a "media player" (I have no idea if BitTorren has it), but when I hit "Preview", the movie SOMETIMES shows up this "media player", and sometimes it doesn't. What I have seen is that when I play the INCOMPLETE file in Windows Media Player, I can always preview it there. Not sure if AVI or OGG files can be viewed in WMP, but how about trying to preview 'em on other media players? confused

I don't think you can with BitTorrent, judging by the way it downloads.

Never used it, so I don't know if it's elite or not.
I know other crap like Gnutella clients allow you to view incomplete downs.
I Don't know shit about .ogg...

BitTorrent is great..it doesn't download stuff weird or differently.....

anyway to answer the question..do u have the latest version of real player?? its suppose to play everything..ever since i downloaded it.i can preveiw everything.. even mov files (quicktime player file) which has made me 1 happy sob, because i hate watching movies in the quick time player... anyway if the movie can start try a different time of the movie, like use ur mouse and ff the movie to the middle or different parts of it.. i have noticed that sometimes while downloading that the middle and end of the file is downloaded first before the begining of the file..

Umm... Yes, it does. It uses seeds from other users to get a tiny bit from several users. That's the main selling point of torrents.

It depends on the file and the codec. Windows Media Player can play an unfinished AVI, but you can't control the playing. That is, you can't go from one point in the video to another, or else it sets itself back to where it's at. It will have the actual time that the file is supposed to last, but it will cut off when it reaches the end of the file.
