It seems a certain star alignment is starting soon, so possibly in the United States, the earth plates are shifting, so we're supposedly supposed to get Earthquake(s), Flood(s), Big Storm(s), etcetera.

If you guys find any more information about this stuff, please post here!

Well, first, it's not like the position of the stars matter and determin anything that happens on Earth (assuming we are NOT talking about the sun.) And another thing, the stars are never actualy where they look, they can be up to a million light years away, so we see what they looked like a full million years ago. That means that they are actually not aligned the way they look, it just looks like it. If it would take a whole 8 minutes if the Sun disappeared for us to notice anything, imagine what it might take to recognize stars light years away.

Sounds like a normal year for Earth.

Tidal forces do not work that way.

Same things have been suggested with the galactic centre alignment back in 2012. Guess what, those happen every year.

When people use the phrase, "The stars have alligned.." for whatever reason, they are not only talking about far away stars, but most likely the planets within our solar system. For Example, Venus is a morning and evening "star".

And yes, some stars or planets do affect things on Earth. Take for example the moon, it inexplicably able to synchronize the water in the ocean depending on its phase.

A Sandstorm would be interesting . Earthquakes and floods are so mainstream

Er-hem... The moon, the gas giants, and the Sun all affect Earth (tides, redirect/take in larger asteroids, keeps us warm and our planet alive, respectively), and nothing they do is inexplicable. They effect us because of their proximity to Earth and their gravity (the gravity from the Moon creates the tides, Jupiter's position in the solar system allows for the asteroid belt to remain where it is, and the Sun's a giant ball of fire that keeps everything together and produces heat and atoms). Those guys are important.
However, if Mercury, Venus, Mars, or anything beyond Neptune (heck, maybe beyond Jupiter) disappeared, nothing on Earth would change and we'd not notice it.
On that note, no form of alignment from any of our planets has ever yielded anything more than a bunch of astronomers saying, "this is fucking awesome," then getting blazed.
Goobie's just fear-mongering. Honestly, saying that earthquakes, tsunamis, and other "unnatural disasters" (those are totally natural, by the way) will occur because of star/planet alignment is on par with saying there will be oil spills in our oceans because of the legalization of gay marriage in the US.

Honestly the strangest thing to happen recently in my area was Softball-sized hail that just annihilated people's vehicles.

Strangest thing to happen here was that earthquake on the East Coast back in August 2011. Scared the shit outta me, I tell ya what. :P

Because everyone knows tectonic plates can't move unless the stars are aligned.
