I was wondering if anyone knew any good video capture card things for capturing video of gaming of on video game consoles? Also what programs and other technology is good for doing things like this? My friends and I want to start making some videos of us playing and possibly do commentary and such. So any suggestions would be great. And the cheaper the price of this stuff is the better.

Try the Hauppauge.
Records in 1080i and I believe it comes with software.
Not sure how you'd do commentary. Maybe record after play with Audacity if you don't mind avoiding live commentary.

I wouldn't know since I don't have one but with a price tag like that, you can't go wrong.

EDIT: I just read your last sentence. Unfortunately if you want HD quality, it's going to cost a pretty penny. Several of them. There's the much cheeper Pinnacle Dazzle PVR in the market with decent quality.

Yeah, I use the Hauppage (or however it's spelled) to capture video. For narration I will simply use Windows Movie Maker and it's "Narrate Timeline" feature. It's too easy.
