i think it be cool if a fighting game incorperated it. for example ryu performs a regular hadoyuken. next level he does the same but now it has homing capabilities.
been playing rpgs lately but my favoite genre is fighting.
level 1 - nomal special
level 2 - ex special/enhanced special
level 3 - homing special
level 4 - guard break special
level 5 - can combo into
level 6, so on.
each level it alters the move and there'd be a class/tree systom where no fighter plays alike. it wouldn't have to be in a well known fighting game series but maybe a new fighting game series.
would you like something like this. is there a even a game out there like my idea. the stuff is endless. attires would upgrade, moves would change, appearences would alter. constantly levling up. every time you win a fight, lose a fight, draw game, perform throws, blocks supers, specials, finishers, counters, etc you get experience. when you reach a certain amount your character gets upgraded. it make a fun game experiece. something new to the genre. i'm not talking about beatemup, purly vs game.

This would be cool, but how would it affect Chip/Block Damage? Would it reduce the frames given to block during certain attacks / projectile exchange? I think if it was implanted properly it could be beneficial to players. However with the way certain move properties respond to timing and lag online. I could see some of this being an issue for some people. Still, I love the idea, and I commend you for this.

maybe certain moves would be sped up or slowed down to effect chip/block damage. maybe depending if you tap or hold the move it effects it. i'm not sure what you mean by projectile exchange but i'm sure the frames could be altered. some moves would have more frames than others to make the moves more extensive.
i'm glad you like the idea.
i think the level cap would be around 99. higher levels would alter the move drastically adding lots more damage, more effects, longer animations. it be a challenge but i think it be possible. maybe have a roster of 12 - 24 characters sense there is so many tweaks that alter as you progress.

Sounds something like Gauntlet (which I LOVED) and X-Men Legends. Though they are both RPG's but they also have a lot of fighting.
But a straight up fighting game with those capabilities would definitely be worth a try

i'm thinking if a character started out with no shirt no, shoes, pair of gloves. the next level they have sandals, shirt, broken glass fists. the type of gloves would change giving a slight bit more of damage, kicks be slightly more powerfull since there protection on feet. chest would beslightly protected since wearing a shirt.
the level after that could be a new hairstyle, hat, glasses, weapon, etc. your character evolves the more you play if you ewant to take certain iytems off that level you can. it might effect damage or playstyle but it give you the choice.
higher levels of moves give elmental damage, facial damage, clothing destruction. certain levels might give you double jumps for that arena and so on.

I think a leveling system would make sense in fighting games where you unlock cosmetic accessories and alt costumes. Kind of like how the recent entries in the Tekken series has offer customization options. Rather than being forced to purchased them.

Capcom released a fighting game with RPG elements called Warzard in Japan and Red Earth in Usa,where you can level up your character but as you got higher the level of your character the enemies went harder too,not many people know it and the american arcade versions were very limited,it was released in the CPS3 Arcade Hardware and it's one of a kind game.
