I had new idea they were going to make those two movies, but thankfully they aren't going to do the Jack Black Green Lantern movie. The last I heard of a DC comic becoming a movie was Iron Man and Supposedly Tom Cruise was to play the lead role as him.

Agreed! Marvel has done a pretty damn good job converting to movies, IMO. X-men and Spiderman are the only ones I've seen, the stories might not be exactly the same but they were very true to the characters. Very important stuff. Unless it's a direct parody, making a comedy out of certain comics would be horrible!

Superhero movies are almost always drama/action flicks. Let them make a few funny ones.

Just so you all know, Jack Black was NEVER intended to be the Green Lantern. He's MIGHT appear in the movie, but not in the title role. The stupid rumor began because 'net idiots simply heard the two names together and said "Jack Black will be the Green Lantern?????"

The only two DC comic movies that are coming out that I care about is Batman Begins and the next Superman movie.

there already were 3 comicbook movies that were comedies. The Teenage Ninja Turtles movies. Even thought the comics were dark the movies took on the light humor of the tv cartoon.

But there are some comic book charecters that could pull off a humorous movie. Spider-man always made wise-cracks, and even though the movies are great on their own, throwing in some more light humor wouldn't hurt. Iceman is another charecter who was always making jokes.

I'm still waiting for The Silver Surfer, and a new and improved Spawn would kick ass too.

Just how much say/influence did McFarlane have in that flick? 'Cause if the CREATOR of the character and comic book was largely responsible for a crappy movie like that one, yeesh
