I don't see it. They are just photos of gameplay and many users would like to see them. I just don't get the reason why posting pictures isn't allowed, or even sending them in Inboxes. It seems like the mods here just want complete control over everything, so that when they get ahold of news and/or pictures, they can claim it as their own. I just don't see what the problem is with posting pictures. It's just plain stupid. Someone please inform me of the stupid reason why this is "illegal".

If u came out with a magazine, and I scanned all the pics and put it online, nobody would buy your magazine. So you would/could sue me for this.

That's why, just pay for the damn magazine.

Who almost got sued? Back to the thread copyrights and like the person above said, scanning pics of mags is bad for the mag, sells could do down and money could be lost for the vid game mag

There is a reason why you cant post scans.MKO posted some scans a few years ago then one game magazine threatend to sue MKO.If they did sue I dont think MKO would be around.Just buy the magazine you may find something in there that scans dont have.Plus some of those scans will become legal once a website like IGN gets them.

Personally, I don't agree completely with that. When I saw the Britney "Esquire" pics (which I'm gonna use in a sig soon, so ya'll better not copy me or I'll tell furious) on the 'net, I went to buy the mag right away.

Nothing beatswink having the mag with those pics in one hand, and in the other my TOO HOT FOR MKO!! BAD MKS!!
Yeah but what if you don't lie in germany or the UK or something so i agree wtih him. posting like a few scans can''t be bad but the whole magazine should be prohibited.

Too bad. Most of the pics people get hyped about arent that great once you see them. The pics that are coming out now are better than the pics in the mags anyway.

Also, a lot of magazine images are exclusives...meaning no other magazine or source will get them.

This being said, hypothetically if you were told that in the next issue of PSM they were going to show a picture of the Dragon King, and you had no way of seeing it save for buying the magazine, you'd buy it right? Most die hard fans would. And there would be people that would import it, too.

Hence why the magazines (likely) pay a good amount of cash for exclusives like that. It sells magazines.

But the main reason we don't allow scans is the fact that, unless we have explicit permission to do so, it is copyright infringement.

Sure, other websites might do it and not bother with getting permission, but all it takes is the owner of the copyrighted stuff to notice those sites and email with a cease and desist order....and that's if they are nice about it.

Technically any sites on the internet using copyrighted materials, including imagery, without authourization could be sued.

Or you could just wait until E3. Patience is a virtue.

That being said, wouldn't slapping "Copyright EGM" or some other mag or site on the pics be a quick, easy solution?

P.S. Personally, I don't care about the MK:D pics...I just find the topic to be quite interesting grin
