What's with all the hate?

I've been a member of a few online forums.
and on every single one the members have talked to each other civily, kindly and even make gifts for each other.
Now when i joined MKO i was glad to see many other members that held the same qualities listed above, but was shocked to see that some members just insult others for no reason! Say a new member wants to show off a fan-art, it's not particualarly impressive, but instead of offering kind helpful tips on how to improve the art, the poster just toutright tells the creator it sucks and it wasn't worth thier time to even bother looking at it!?!?!
I hope people are friendly to each other, i mean we don't want it to be like Big Brother 5..(well, maybe we should have a Vanessa) but it's just plain rude to insult someone. Please let's try and make this forum a FRIENDLY place?

Well, there are rude people everywhere, that's a fact. But IMO there is not much "hate" in MKO.
I've seen worse forums, believe me...
I'd say MKO is a very friendly forum, but to each his own!grin

ive been here for like 2 days...ive got a friendly vibe so far. i think MKO is a very enjoyable place to besmile of course there are a couple of bad apples here and there but ive learned to ignore them

Well first of all, shitloads (in fact, probably most) message boards hold pay per view fights at least every week. What message boards have you been in, Jesus and pals?

And last but not least, not another FUCKING peace and love thread. Please, it's getting too old now.

There's something you have to give these members credit for too. We always reply to thread in less than 15minutes and that's more important than what you wrote because replying to a thread a day away will make members run away.

I personally think reading the "flamewar" threads is entertaining. There really isn't much else on these boards that is quite as entertaining as that. The only thing that comes close to it is if:

-Jax007 posts some new art
-NUBIANGREENE posts some new art

All other threads are the same in one form or another.

Oh well, if someone wants to post their art, or anything on this board at all, they have to expect to take flagrant, useless criticism. That's life. I think this board would be pretty boring and maybe even sickening if there weren't at least some, kinda heated words being exchanged. No harm in the end, really...

Unlike many of these utopian forums the threadmaker speaks of, MKO doesn't censor users to the bone. We allow mild swearing, most controversial subject matter(except religion), and pretty much anything that has some meaningful content. If you were to just utter the word "fuck" at gamefaqs, you'd probably be chastised.

And because we don't smother our users with rules, the environment is rather relaxed and not-so-tense. Therefore, there will be times when users step the boundaries and flame wars occur. I'm sorry it has to happen, but with the negative, we can appreciate the positive.
