Weaponlord by Namco.
That game was damn deep and rewarded players whom took the time to learn the game and be good at it. Great counter system that also let players set up some fun combos as well. Pretty fun to watch two good players go at it in that game.
And it had some cool ideas like the multi-fatality thing that could be done in a finishing combo, you had a lot of leeway to how much or how little of a fatality you made out of your opponent.
Definitely one of the 'sleeper' hits for fighting games I've ever played.

That fatality thing sounds a lot like a game I read about in a really old video game magazine, but I don't recognize the name Weaponlord. What were some of the character names? That may jog my memory.
Anyway, I would say Primal Rage. That was a fun game, I'm glad it's gonna be in Midway AT2, but it would be cool to have a 3D version.

Although it's not necesserily a fighting game, I'd still like to see Streets of Rage brought back. Hell, I'd settle for a port for the GBA.
Also I think it's time for a brand new Street Fighter game. No Capcom VS., no EX, either a part 4 or a new Alpha. Chances of this happening are slim to none.
And while on the subject of Capcom, how about bringing Capcom All-stars back from the dead, it did show promise.

Double Dragon2
I loved beating people up in that game, grabbing them by their hair and chucking them over a ledge, really old school.
Final fight would also be on my list, always loved that game.

I'd also like to see a Weapon Lord remake. I was actually playing it two nights ago. It's a pretty sweet game.
Here is some of the character's names.
Bane- a big guy wearing wolf skin with a giant hammer.
Korr- barbarian with a ponytail
Talazia- a chick with talons
Divada- a girl with a double bladed spear
Jen Tai- a female barbarian with a sword and shield
Zarak- big dude that wore a helmet and had spider legs on his back
I remember this fatality I did with Korr all the time. First I would decapitate my opponent, then slash the head causeing it to explode leaving only the brain, and finally, jump up and thrust my sword into their fallen body exploding their chest.
