so im asking u all, do u feel that it is possible to really get to know someone online and be friends or is it just mutual(sp) and nothing more???

Of course its true you can make friends on MKO, i've already mad 2 friends (Sub-Zero1589 and TomTaz). It would be alright to chat online with others because as you chat with them you begin to learn more about them every time they post. like Sub-Zero1589 is cool and TomTaz is a nice guy who is happy to help others.
It's always possible, as long as you all share common interests, chat regularly, and get along. I don't see what makes it any different between online and in person. The only difference is being able to go and chill with them, but in some cases you can even do that. I've met many friends on instant messenger, and like you I'd trust them with my life more than I'd trust some of my friends here. Anyone who says it's not possible to make friends online has clearly never spent much time online.

When i was younger (17-20) I used to chat on the net alot. I met many people and remain good close friends will alot of them still to this day.
The very first person I made friends with online was from Canada. After the chatting days grew old we still kept in touch via emails. We finally met at the end of last year when she come to Australia for the first time on a holiday to see the east coast of this country.
I knew her 'electronically' for 8 years before we physically met. We spent alot of time together when she was here. But unfortunately it was only 2wks and now she's back home. We still email...
So of course it happens. And it's a great way to meet people around the world.
I also chatted to many people from all over Europe. I still keep in touch with them via email, and they have all said I could stay with them for a few days when I travel over there.
One day you will want to travel, and it's better knowing people in the countries you visit.
