I've read two media places (EGM and IGN) that basically forgot that GTA has been on the gameboy twice before. EGM even said "The first time we get a portable GTA" or something stupid like that.
Not only have they forgotten... GTA1/GTA2 on the GBC look basically the SAME as this new one on GBA..
anyway GTA1 on GBC was pretty damn good, GTA2....well the original sucked so so did the GB one

I'm not excusing them by any means (especially since I've seen similar things in other forms of media, and not only with videogames), but my guess would be that they MEANT to write something like "We get a portable GTA 3/GTA:VC/GTA:SA", seeing as how the first 2 games in the series weren't monster hits (sales-wise) and didn't revolutionize games like GTA 3 did.

What exactly did GTA3 revolutionize? The game was, from a gameplay standpoint, pretty much the same as GTA1 and GTA2. GTA3 gets a high production value, a new coat of paint if you will, and all of a sudden it's the greatest thing ever? Bullshit.

First off, no one said that GTA3 was "the greatest hit ever." And if you had even read what MKSECRETS wrote, you would know what the hell he was talking about. He said that the older GTAs didn't take too well, basically becasue of it's gameplay. So when GTA3 came out with it's big overhaul, more people took too it because the gameplay had improved a great deal.

I had a nice lil' post ready for you, Pretentious, but UREEKA did such a good job, I'll let it pass.
But just this time. THINK about what you're gonna write before you do, or else you're gonna wind up looking like an ass. Again.

Next time, try wording your posts without unnecessary shit like "revolutionize games like GTA3 did". Gives off the impression that you're putting the game on a pedestal of greatness. And anyway my post wasn't so much directed at you as it was the general gaming media.

Love or hate the series, you can't deny the influence the game has had on video games as a whole. It revolutionized the concept video gamers had when it came to an entire 3D virtual city and the freedom that came with it.

what made gta 3 such a hit Pretentious, was a whole city packed in a game(everything loaded at once), new super 3d graphics, freedom of decisions, realistic car movements, different type of gangster, good ground fighting and all made a lot of fun. i personally love the game
