2011 Was a hell of a year for gaming. 2012 looks pretty outstanding as well. Here's my most anticipated games for the year ahead.
Twisted Metal- This game looks like it's going to be amazing. I was a bit turned off at first because the game seemed to be a (mostly) multiplayer affair. But with new details about the single player emerging, the original developers at the helm, and a free download of Twisted Metal: Black...I'm on board.
UFC Undisputed 2012- Was a fan of the first title, felt like the second was a bit rushed. Nice to see the developer take some extra time and refine the fighting system, and the addition of Pride rules seems like this title will be worth the money.
SSX- Looks like this title is gonna be great fun. Nice to see this series make a return.
Asura's Wrath- Japanese action titles are usually hit or miss with me. This one looks like it's shooting incredibly high in terms of scale and story telling. Can't wait to give the demo a try.
Metal Gear Rising Revengeance- A lot of people got pissed when it was revealed that Platinum games(folks behind Bayonetta) had taken the reigns on development. It's honestly one of the reasons I got excited for it. On the other hand, I have seen action games change hands mid-development and not turn out well(Looking at you...fucking Slaughterhouse).
Max Payne 3- Yeah boy! Nice to see Max making a return in a big way.
Street Fighter X Tekken- My excitement for this game is a bit hampered by the tag format(I just don't enjoy Tag fighting that much) but I'm going to give this one a shot.
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time- Sly Cooper is awesome...there I said it.
Tomb Raider- The new direction the series has taken seems to be a winner. The trailer for the game at E3 last year was a genuine surprise, here's hoping it live up to the potential.
Lollipop Chainsaw- Once again, this seems to be one of those quirky Japanese action games that I'm not gonna be able to say no to.
The Last of Us- The developer behind the amazing Uncharted series(and Jak and Daxter...and Crash Bandicoot) looks like it's shooting for "M"ature territory with this one. A Fungus that takes over the host? Awesome. I'm wondering how the gameplay between the man and the girl is gonna work(co-op...A.I.?) but I have faith that this one's gonna be awesome.
Vita/Wii U launches- Eh, we'll see how it goes.
That's pretty much all I can think of, maybe I'll add more later. What games are you guys looking for in the new year?

#1 - Carmageddon: Reincarnation
Super excited about this game. Carmageddon (PC, 1997) is to this date my favorite game of all time and the 2012 Reincarnation is using it as a main influence/inspiration - OH YEAH! Can't wait to start modding cars, tracks, physics and all the other stuff in the game. The developers seem to be very aware that the customization and modding aspects of the previous games are fan favorites which makes me really happy. This makes the replay value enormous. Plus, my two favorite opponents have already been confirmed - Screwie Lewie and Val Hella. Can't wait to waste them with Max Damage's Read Eagle. I would love it if they would bring back all the Carma1 opponents. Can't wait to see Stella Stunna's Electric Blue revealed. The release date is still unknown, but it could be winter 2012.

#3 - Twisted Metal

Jak & Daxter HD Collection (I know the games were already released, but they were my favorite PS2 games)
Street Fighter X Tekken
GTA V
Sonic 4 Ep. 2
Tomb Raider
Also, I don't think this counts, but I'm also anticipating the DLC for Skyrim and Serious Sam 3
I'd say Doom 4, but that's probably not until 2013....

Didn't ID say it's completely abandoned due to Rage's not-so-great success?

I would think that would drive them to work on it to make it better... but considering Bethesda's track record (see Skyrim), I wouldn't doubt it...
damn.

I liked the original mostly, as it set up the idea of the world before it got GTAified.
