Not to take away from Digital_Assassin's thread on 9/11 but I'm just curious on you're opinions on Micheal Mooore and his documentaries.

Personally I respect his ideas and I give him a lot of credit for the risks he takes. I enjoy watching his documentaries, but I do have a problem with the he goes about filming. He is can be a very passive prick when he is trying to get the opinions of the people he bad mouths, and then when it comes time to talking to those with similar views or premoting he becomes a different person. He is much more agressive when he knows he can take charge of an audience, and he smart in doing so. He is a very cynical and sly filmaker, an he knows this is his best weapon.

So, on the whole I like Moore, but I don't like some of the ways he slants his films.

He's pretty good. I agree with the majority of what he tries to put across in his films. I don't really care that he "cheats" to get his point of view known. He's a filmmaker. He has an idea and opinion and he tries to show people any way possible. Plus, it's only a movie. People who hate Bush hated Bush long before he made it. Everybody needs to calm down a bit about this whole thing.

I don't like President Bush, but frankly I don't like Michael Moore either. I think Moore is a fat*** prick who slants his documentaries towards one side of the political spectrum. His latest film Farenheit 9/11 is nothing but propaganda. I think he is a moron, but that is just my opinion.

I don't think anybody is going to debate the fact that he's a fatass prick.

I just got back litteraly a few minutes ago from seeing Farenheit 911. That movie wasn't skewed toward the left in any way shape or form. [/sarcasm]

I wanted to see an interesting documentary and instead I had to sit through a manipulitive liberal propaganda film. If I saw Michael Moore on the street I'd kick him in the beanbag and take my eight bucks back from his wallet.

Everyone who goes to see a Moore Movie knows who he is and what his political opinion is, so I wouldn't be too surprised if his movie turns out to be skewed towards the left...

And I'd rather be a liberal than some blimpish conservative. Eh, whatever. I love Bowling for Columbine, that's a great documentary. And I read his book "Dude where's my country", which is pretty good as well. Gotta love that part about 'where the US would be without France', since the whole hate towards France is so silly (Freedom Fires? Oh please).

I heard some things about him, but I've never seen any of his movies. The only reason we saw Farehiet 911 was because our only other options were White Chicks and Shrek 2. On the political spectrum I'm in the middle and leaning depending on the issue. But Michael Moore is a fat lying dumbass with a white-man guilt complex.

I don't like Moore but I think his movies are well paced so kudos to his editor. I still don't think it deserved the "Palme D'or".

I agreen with most of the things he says, he makes some very valid points about current national and international issues, but sometimes what he says can be a little too extreme and derrogatory

THis guys a F***ing Retard. Dumb Fat*** just wants Bush out of there. All this guy cares about is us losing one of are freedoms and that's the right to Bare Arms. Im huge on hunting and for the NRA. This guys not and either is Kerry. So *a lil odd* right before 2004 election he makes a movie to show that we knew this attack was coming. Well wtf we supose to do we don;t no when we no its coming sometime. Sort of like F D Roosevelt knowing about Pearl HArbor but that's a different story that reason is he promised be4 the election that he would no declare war unless we were attacked first so he let it happen. (IF IT's TRUE). Hell Moore could be making this shit up. Idk I don;t like the guy and I think he's full of shit. My Opinion and Hell no I won;t go see this movie I hope this movie brings in the worst amount of money and worst rating. PERIOD

While his film may be very much to the 'left', it's refreshing in a world where we are forced to live on the 'right'.

After seeing what he did on the Today Show the other day, I love this guy.

He's talented as a filmmaker and a writer. I respect his views, and I agree with a good deal of them, but as with anyone who makes a living writing about politics he tends to get whiny and petty.
You can't forget, either, that with his films, he IS still trying to make a buck. And to do that, you have to do things that will grab attention...no one would have seen his movie if it was just mellow, moderate commentaries about the state of the country.

I like him. I like it when he beat Evander Holyfield for the title.

Oh wait, nm tongue

Seriously tho, like what was said before, you know his films. You either like him or you don't. He just puts his views and some facts in a film for you to decide.

I agree with just about everything Moore has to say, however i am a Canadian, but like many people in countries around the world and in the United States, i think alot of the policies that are enforced through the Bush regime are kind of outlandish and for the lack of better words plainly stupid, and i like how they are portrayed in Moores films. I do not want to say that oh the U.S is so fucked up and Canada isn't, because i would be a blatent liar, my country is as of lately an American kiss-ass in the sense that they are heavily enforcing anti-immigration laws, like the Shiit(Sp?) family that is being extradited back to Pakistan with no good reason, where they will no doubt face persecution. But it still hasn't gotten as bad as the states are, yet... In all honesty, I hate Bush and wouldn't waste a minute of my time watching his funeral should he die or be killed, my day would go on totally unscathed, i do not agree at all with most policies imposed by a conservative "right wing" party, like that ban on same-sex marriage, who the hell are we to say what others can and cannot do? I would understand if they were hurting us in some way shape or form? But please tell me how it hurts any of us to know that some guys like it in the pooper? But i guess conservatives and "right wingers" just love putting their noses where they have no reason to be. But that is of course just my oppinion.

I have no opinion of the guy or his work, But i agree with anything that deals with the truth. Left wing or right wing, It helps people to get all the facts, But it's up to the individual to look in more than one place.

You guys do know that F911 is self admitted not a documentary. He goes out of his way to say that it isn't one in any way shape or form.

Was listening to public radio, and they said that all the scenes have been available to everybody anyway. And anyone closely following the news won't be surprised by anything seen. Since it has all been reported.
