I think the promotion so far has been horrible. This game should be buzzing everywhere by now! Don't get me wrong I'm satisfied (sorta) with whats been revealed so far, but that's because I'm aware of the game. But there are people who don't even know what injustice is! I sware I'm like the only guy around here aware of the game, and that really sucks.

I want this to be a successful game, both gameplay and sales, but they are lacking on Promotion. Then again it might just be me, what do y'all think?

Well... yeah. I wish NRS would reveal Injustice stuff more frequently, too. But I don't think that there's not much of a buzz around the game. Almost every single friend of mine (who's into comics and video games) knows about the game because of all those presentations on the comic and game conventions. Injustice had a huuuuge presence on those conventions with all the posters and huge booths and whatnot, and generated a huge buzz. But yeah. The VGAs would've been a great opportunity to present the game again. But maybe it was just too expensive.

I hardly think money is the issue.

I do feel, however, that the promotion needs to be extended beyond comic book fans and fighting gamers. It needs to reach those who'd normally wouldn't play it. If NRS truly wants to branch out into being a legitimate gaming company, as they say, that is what they must do.

Their trick is to reveal much of the game near release. That will show it in a bigger scale and less time, saving them some $$ and giving the game better presentation.

I don't think that it will sell half what MK9 sold, though.

I've grown so tired of this "they haven't shown enough!" attitude these days. Happened with MK last year, and now it's already starting with Injustice. In the old days (Late 80's-early 2000's), you didn't get everything laid out for you, and every stone turned over.

People complained about the MK promotion and advertising last year, saying it was extremely horrible because they barely released anything until a month out from the game. Yet, the game was awesome, and it sold very well.

Why do people need everything shown to them, especially so early? I can understand wanting to see enough to know if you'll enjoy the game and what to expect, but to feel the need to have video after video, picture after picture, and every single aspect of the game revealed to you, in the end, you are only hurting the enjoyment the game has to offer.

It's like when a movie releases 10 different trailers, or a book shows half of it's pages...it takes away from the "fresh" feeling and surprises left in store for when you actually get the game. Not every character needs to be shown off, nor does there need to be tons of videos months before the game comes out. I felt like with MK:D-MK vs DC, they blew their load way too soon and everything was boring by the time the game came out. This wasn't the case with last year's game, and likely won't be the case with Injustice.

Let the people do the jobs they were meant to do. They are paid to build hype and interest for the game, they WILL do that. They don't need to show their hand months out from the game's release. Let it simmer and when we get closer to release i'm sure we'll see plenty more to satisfy everyone but keep some suspense and mystery about what the game offers. They WILL spread the word. You'll see ads on major gaming sites and on T.V., in magazines...it'll be OK. :P

It's 2012 now. Games tend to be shittier now. Games are really expensive as well. I want to see what I'm buying.

I understand where you are coming from, but that's always been the case, nothing has changed from back then, til now. Games have always been expensive, and you say they are shittier now, but there's always been crappy games as well as good games. In fact, i'd go as far as to say there are a higher number of good to great games compared to average to poor games, than there was in the past. Back on NES-N64, there were a lot of really awful games that go beyond what one might consider "bad" these days.

So while I understand what you mean, I don't agree and think it's a poor reason to ask for evrything to be laid out for you leaving very little for when you actually get your hands on the game.

Besides, I wasn't saying they shouldn't give you a good idea of what you are buying, that's essential, I am saying there is such a thing as showing too much and making the game feel boring and "seen it all before" if they show everything off months in advance. Regardless, they know what they are doing, and you will have plenty to go off of just as we did with MK last year. They left a good amount under wraps, while still giving you all you could need to decide wether or not to spend your money on it.

It was a fairly common complaint of the last generation that there was little left to discover by the time the [Mortal Kombat] games came out. As much as it's nice to gobble everything up month after month, you'd really have to give them credit for giving us something to sustain us relatively regularly. It hasn't been quite as nourishing as it was for MK, but it's a different game, with a broader audience.

The game has literally loomed large over the major live events of the year and is reaching diehard avenues directly (through comics and action figures). It's never going to please everyone, but it's going out to a broad audience who don't represent the entirety of the masses who will stumble across it and purchase for the association of the massive DC machine.

Midway were very, very good to us. They spoiled us above and beyond our status as one of their most important audiences. Those days are gone, but so are the doubts over the future. You can say a lot of things about what's changed, but it's probably shooting the wrong target to blame NRS, and it's probably missing it all together to say the promotion has been bad.

Four months left and we've still got something to discover.

This time, 2008, we knew just about everything there was to know about MK vs DC. Relish the unknown! There's probably something actually there, this time.

I think it mainly depends what kind of player you are. If you're just in it for the fighting, I can understand that you would want to have as much information as possible before the game is released. Just look at how Capcom dealt with reveals for Street Fighter 4 or Marvel vs Capcom. All the juicy bits that were interesting to the 'in it for the fighting' players was revealed before the release. They didn't care about story endings (let's be honest, Capcom's ideas for 'stories' are just laughable)), they just wanted to know who was in the game and what kind of moves they would have. I fully understand them feeling starved for information. I wouldn't mind seeing a video of Green Lantern duking it out with Joker, for example.

But then you have the other type of players, the ones who are looking for hidden surprises/unlockables, a decent (for a fighting game anyway) story and things that might make them go *gasp*. I think they might be satisfied with just getting a render of maybe half the cast, so they can discover the rest while playing.

So yeah, I think NRS understands they way they have to tease their game, just like Capcom knows how to deal with their publicity. While both companies make the fighting games, their target audience is slighty different.

As for me personally, I would like to be able to go to Youtube and actually find some different gameplay videos, instead of the same trailer for the umpteenth time. On the other hand, the less they reveal, the less hype they're keeping me... which makes time go by faster, and brings the launch that much closer. tongue

But the entire game would be left for me to play. I'll have plenty. I guess it's just the kind of consumer I am. I like to see as much of what I'm getting as possible.

I wouldn't want to presume too much (or open a big ol' can of worms), but there's always the issue of being a gamer and a savvy consumer: The notion of separating habitual pre-orders; the conventional responsibility of the consumer to themselves; and the promotion of what is ultimately a creative, experiential medium.

Fair enough, the industry and market has made its own bed, placing a lot of importance on pre-orders and the enthusiast/habitual earlybird market. That's too big an issue to untangle here. There is something general to be said, however, from the fact that, if your priority is knowing what you're buying (good way to go), you can do that without a promotion strategy that gives everything away. The same can't be said for people interested in owning the discovery experience.

If you can stomach keeping your cash in pocket for a day or two in April, you can have the informed purchase in abundance (thanks to all the suckers who'll jump in blind and YouTube it all) without being too far behind game.

I don't think anyone would begrudge savvy purchases and the desire for a first-hand experience, but it's a bit juvenile to ignore promo material that is released, review cycles, demo stations, community discussion, and all the other avenues that are there to help you make an informed purchase without spoiling the whole damn package just because you want everything now, now, now, now.

If you think about it I think Injustice is doing fine so far they have made the cover of gameinformer and they have shown some stuff here and there some pretty recent, obviously I believe there just working hard on it which is fine by me as long as the final product turns out awesome and superb quality. To me advertising too much may possibly be a waste considering the consumers are more than likely busy with the new games out for the holidays its very competitive right now specially when you got all these new titles out. Im willing to bet once time is given, a whole chunk of good stuff is going to be put out for this game.

Yeah i'm glad it's not showing too much, but when they revealed GL and Joker they should have at least got the catwoman treatment.I'm going to wait about 1/2 a year after release and maybe get the Komplete edition(or super or comic edition) as my system cannot go online and probably won't for awhile.Hope it's good.

Its not the lack of character reveals that gets me its just the general lack of promotion im (not) seeing on popular gaming sites.

They where buzzing for MK and with Characters like Batman and Superman who are bigger than every MK character put together there should be a bigger buzz going for Injustice!

I hope this game succeeds big time, I love me some DC.
