Anyone else playing Injustice hoping to get a head start on MKX?

Obviously certain Injustice play styles are going to bleed over into MKX. Goro has been hinted by Ed Boon to be Doomsday like. Ferra/Torr is looking like Bane's counterpart. I realize they won't play exactly the same, but Injustice could be a valuable tool to understanding certain character's play styles.
I personally have been trying to wrap my head around Doomsday as I'm excited as hell for a playable Goro.
Has this crossed anyone else's mind? If your favorite character gets a roster spot, is there an Injustice character you'd like to be used as a template for how they'll play?

My short answer is no.
i don't have Injustice yet, so I can not comment on which hands on character style is preferable.
Since I will be waiting for the Komplete Edition, I look forward to a SLOW start with Raiden.
I refuse to get enter a state of fan boy hype, unless numerous classic stages filled with fatalities are created and presented alongside the new Outworld backgrounds.

MKX completely revamped my interest in Injustice for awhile. Tried to play MK9 a little too but the online is the shittiest thing on Earth. Injustice is great but the online scene is dead and I hated not really being able to play whenever I wanted. Like when I get home after work and its really late absolutely no one is on. Also, for a game thats going on 2 years old its crazy how many beginner players I'd run into, I never understood that. Scores and scores of people who don't block or dash or have any basic understanding of the game. I have all these fun little Lex set ups but its boring when every single one of them is guaranteed to work because my opponent does nothing but jump forward the entire round until they rage quit.
I gave up on Injustice and got a Xbone to play Killer Instinct thinking I could improve my footsie game for MKX and Killer Instinct seemed more accessible to learn than SF. Sadly though I just couldn't get the hang of KI and felt like it was too complicated, and even at my best I found the game dull. All the combo's look so dull and generic, technically they can be really impressive, but most of it is a repetitive guessing game. I feel like I'm playing a really shiny version of rock, paper, scissors because you just guess when/how to break and/or counter break and if you don't know all the autos for every character you're fucked. Now I just play advanced warfare and cry into my pillow every night.
But yeah I see a lot of similarities with Injustice and MKX, more so than I see with MK9 and MKX. Doomsday is suppose to play like Goro, Torr is like Bane, Kotal Kahn's Sun God variation plays like Grundy only minus the armor and his grab chain doesn't look nearly as cool, Quan Chi and Scorpion's demon variations (where they have the little demon monster helper) remind me of Zod or Sinestro with trait. If Cyrax gets a spot on the roster I would love for him to play like Lex! His set up game in MK9 just wasn't nearly as practical as Lex Luthor's in injustice. Guaranteed resets just aren't as hype as crazy ass set ups. Also Raven reminded me of Ermac and if he makes it into MKX I could see him have a variation that plays like her.

I played Injustice for a long while, but it is just in the end a boring ass game. It's fun to get into once in awhile, but I couldn't play it for months on end unlike MK9. Maybe if Dr Fate or Swamp Thing had made the roster I would have liked it more, but whatever. I'm looking really forward to MKX as I was pretty good at MK9/INJ while I played them, but haven't found a character that looks like my style in MKX yet. I mained Kabal/Cage in MK9 and Ares/Martian Manhunter in Injustice so I don't really know. Hopefully Fujin/Shinnok if they are in.
Injustice is shit. I stopped playing that game after the first week. It got boring very quick. Went back to playing MK9, and still playing that game on a consistent basis. There's always people playing MK9, even if I am on at like 4 am. Plus, 99% of the people I play on MK9 are skilled players at this stage. No annoying noobs. MK9 has remained competitive and fun to play 3 and half years on.

I haven't yet. But come next month when Injustice is free for PS4 with PS Plus, I'll be playing it again.

This reminds me of playing DA/Deception to ready up for Armageddon. I remember playing as Tanya, Shang and Liu Kang to prep for Rain, Chameleon, and Reptile. Since Reptile took over Kang's Pao Chui (which was one of my favorite things about Armageddon because that style was deadly), Cham over Shang's Crane, and Rain over Tanya's Zi Ran Men.
Thinking about it now, I regret trading in my Injustice. Curse my short sightedness!

I would if Neatherelm and Sony would get out of bed with each other and release the game on the Xbox One

When I can I do and with that, usually play as the brutes (Bane/Doomsday/Grundy). Hope there will be at least one or two more brutes in MKX besides Torr and Goro.
I don't think any of the normal sized characters in MKX will play alike anyone of the IGAU characters.

I was actually thinking about doing this today but I got sidetracked with other things, plus I don't really have anything left to do in Injustice, I have been playing it since launch, then replayed the hell out of it again when they released it on PS4, so im kind of burnt out when it comes to Injustice atm lol

Personally I hope MKX plays nothing like Injustice and is more like MK9. I don't know what it is, something about the controls or pace of the game, I can't start or keep up a combo string to save my life, like there's an input lag my brain and fingers can't account for. It's nowhere near as fast and smooth as MK9 is.

Nope, because I don't have the game.
I'm playing MK3 on Mame Emulator, as well as MKDA.
Shit...MK3 is addicting. I started playing MKT as a small child in the late 90's, and its still fun to play now.

This. If MKX plays more like Injustice and less like MK9, I will be very, very disappoint.
Tooting my own horn here, but I can pull off some serious combos in MK9 with a variety of characters. Injustice? I play like I'm barely competent at life. The game just feels...off? Like the game is moving so fast, stringing together combos feels more arduous than it should be.
Idk. Glad it's not just me experiencing this.

If MKX plays like Injustice I am not even going to bother with the game.

Love Injustice. I still play MK9 but now that game feels sluggish to me. Not bad just slow. MK9 also feels a lot simpler now. Lots of universal moves and commands is likely a big part of that feeling. It makes the game feel like there is far less matchup variety than Injustice.
That coupled with the fact that Injustice has genuinely diverse character types (compared to MK9) makes the games feel very different. Characters like Doomsday and Zod and Green Lantern are all such different matchups that, again, MK9 just feels very simple are bare by comparison.
I still really like MK9, but I do hope MKX takes an idea or two from Injustice, which it seems it will. I think a marriage of the two will make for a VERY fun game.

I am told by a buddy who played it at a convention a few months back that it feels "much like a logical continuation from MK9" and not like Injustice in the least (in terms of overall playstyle, character similarities are another matter obviously).
Which is good for me because I felt like Injustice was far too stiff.

I will be playing Injustice here and there. I do like some things about it compared to MK9 (e.g. dashing, interactive spots for evasion), but on the flip side, I like some things about MK9 over Injustice (e.g. uppercuts and jump kicks). If I'm not mistaken, it's been said that MKX will play more like MK9.

Holyshit you guys! ARE YOU ME?! That's the main reason why I dropped Injustice so quickly.
That, and all characters having different as fuck movement speed. It's like they ignored everything that made MK9 balanced as possible.
Also...three attack buttons?! Thanks Marvel vs Capcom 3 >_>
If MKX mechanically feels like Injustice, I'm going to be sad as fuck.

MKX has the interactable stage thing, so is that saying it plays like Injustice? If so, then I hope there is an option to turn it off, like in IGAU.
MK doesn't need it in my opinion, it's an Injustice thing.

No doubt the mechanics are gonna be more along the lines of traditional MK. Injustice had to feel different, otherwise, what was the point?
I'm doing a lot better with Doomsday than when I first started playing the game. I at least feel like I understand his rush down game a bit better.
I could see Havik having an off the wall style like the joker. Quick with lots of mixups.

The thing is, we can't go by visuals until we can actually play it.
I've been fucked over by judging games on visuals a few times, ironically, all was from Mortal Kombat titles, but that's another story.
"Injustice" has custom combos and combo breakers, just like MK9.
But in the end, both games mechanically play and feel differently.
The only people that can say whether Mortal Kombat X mechanically feels like MK9 or Injustice is the people who played the MKX demo...and actually knows their shit about MK9's gameplay.
And I ain't just talking "well, it has four attack buttons and combos so it's MK".

What do you mean, "what's the point?"?
"Injustice" mechanically playing and feeling like MK9 wouldn't be a bad thing, at all.
Hell, I'll be playing that bitch right now if that was the case.
I think NRS did it the way they did just so no one would ever say "Injustice is just MK9 with different character skins".

...which would have been true.
I'm not going to argue the merits for or against Injustice feeling like MK, that's not what this thread was intended for...I will say that I feel like the entire point of NRS spreading their wings and trying something different went completely over this community's head, and that's a shame.
