With the exception of the Roy Harper and Marvel Family cameos, I thought all the arcade endings were extraordinarily lame compared to the endings we usually get in MK games or got in MKvsDCU.

Me too,I disliked them a lot...I wonder why though,because usually John Vogel delivers at LEAST in this category. I think he wasn't involved in the game too much,or they couldn't do some radical changes.

I imagine they just had no material to work with. The story mode is self contained and there's no plans for a sequel, at least not right away, so why bother with arcade endings at all, except that everybody expects them so you gotta churn out something simple and basic.

At least with MKvsDCU they had a cool idea to work with in "what if each character gained a power from or became more like a character from the other side?" i.e. Catwoman gaining an Animality, Sonya gets a GL ring, Kano goes crazy and paints his face like Joker, etc.

Hell, most of the MKvsDC ones were such interesting ideas I actually want to see a sequel to that game JUST to see some of them actually happen.

And I think Kitana's "gets her own island nation like Wonder Woman" ending where she and the Edenian rebels take over Shang's island on Earth instead of bringing Edenia back is so cool an idea that it should actually happen in canon.
