OT: Hmm I honestly have no idea who that is, any DC big wigs on this site who might have any idea?
Well to me it looks like Negative Man in his negative form, but that's kind of a far fetched guess. Possibly Shadow Thief.
I think your right, it does look alot like Negative Man

or someone who needs to look on the bright side more often.
IF he is somebody, i think he might be Obsidian. He is the son of Green Lantern Alan Scott and he has the power of darkness and shadows. He is basically the DC version of Noob Saibot. I expect dozens of Easter Eggs, this is the MK team after all
I would agree with you but I don't think it's Obsidian for the main reason I don't see the cape.
Technically it could also be Noob Saibot himself, considering a) his fate in MK9 was that he was thrown in a portal whose effect we don't know b) messing with portals leads to surprises as shown by MK/DC c) Batman and Superman are in separate universes officially as well, mooting the "He's from the MK universe!" argument d) Injustice could be in the same continuity with MK/DC; in a different time e) there's always space for a couple of MK characters f) he could be a subtle cameo character a bit similar to Skarlet in MK9. Yet I find these others considerably more likely.
Oh my God Zmoke, You can't just ask people why they're dark.

Eventho Hector Sanchez said "no mk characters in the game"... we all know that is never NOT a possibility. Ed Boon contradicted this in one of the first videos when he said "You'll probably see some DLC and Guest characters"
The first trailer showed somebody with ICE powers blasting The Flash. It could by any number of villains (my bet is on Icicle Jr). But my point is that its almost a no-brainer to have a SubZero skin for that guy. A Raiden skin for Shazam, NoobSaibot skin for this mystery shadow man. etc.
Nope. What are you talking about? They're from the same universe.
Am I the only one who thinks the guy is just a pointless background extra?

Quote properly for Heaven's sake. There are lots of different universes in the DC cosmos, even Superman has several alterations (e.g. Red Son) but as a general rule the Superman developers desire that Batman has no influence whatsoever in Superman's environment with the exception of some profitable spinoffs and old, past stuff. It's NetherRealm's alteration.
Am I the only one who thinks the guy is just a pointless background extra?
This isn't the first time you attempt to ruin the speculation with pessimism. In retrospect, how did that last one turn out? Anyway, no one has stated that "He's for granted a secret playable character!". What we're trying to do here is connect reasonable matches for others to judge and read in here.
Why he doesn't seem like a random NPC: a) normally background characters who are supposed to blend in aren't completely black by clothing b) normally background characters don't disappear all of a sudden from their position c) similar sometimes appearing black-clad person was in The Temple in NeRdS's last big game d) such "bugs" hardly appear in official videos unintentionally e) there are provenly other Easter eggs in the game already too and NeRdS are reputed of putting secrets in their games. I don't know what it is but I don't think it's unintentional. Maybe he is something meaningful, maybe he isn't – feel free to make your conclusions – just don't state that he is pointless if you do not, in reality, have any basis to confirm your statement's truthfulness. The article you referred is about the MOVIES.
So no, it's not a GENERAL RULE, it's not even close to being that. It's one rule in the live action movies, that's it. And that's completely irrelevant.
Hell, this is a video game so at best you could bring up that they're in separate universes in video games in general. Except they're not.
DC Universe Online, Justice League Heroes, and a little game called Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe.
General Rule: Batman and Superman live in the same universe. You're welcome.
As for the "don't state anything unless you have proof". You realize that that's EXACTLY what YOU are doing?
All I said was "am I the only one who thinks this character is nothing?". What's wrong with that? It's speculation. I'm not ruining anyone's fun, I'm just saying it looks like it's a meaningless extra. I could be wrong, sure. I'm not insulting you or telling you to stop, I'm discussing it as much as you are. So there's no need to get all defensive, cool down. I have every right to say it looks like nothing.
And I have to say it's really silly to say "if you don't have proof, don't say that it's not a character!". It's the other way around, buddy. Show me proof that it's a character, because until then it is a background extra.
You are wrong, regarding the universes. Batman and Superman are in the same Earth, in the same Universe. I am talking about the comic books, but nearly every cartoon featuring Batman includes Superman in the same universe (Super friends, Justice League, Superman Animated Series, Batman Brave and the Bold, Young Justice, Teen Titans, The Batman...).

It isn't limited to just movies. Smallville for instance didn't have Batman albeit it had this Adam Knight who resembled Bruce Wayne. It depends on the writer really. My original point being, Noob Saibot could interfere with this Injustice universe as well, especially if we take the games (MK/DC) into account. I have to mention though that I don't follow the DC comic books thus my view is less comic-oriented than yours probably, so as for what is official I think you're right that in comic books they interfere each other. My sole intention's to support the possibility of Noob Saibot with this.

The fuck? Batman/Superman are probably the two-closest superheroes in DC Universe, not counting fiancees. The world outside comics doesn't count. This discussion is pointless.

To return to the subject, see my earlier post and tell your views about it.

So what? Then in the next movie of MK, Shinnok can be again Shao Kahn's father because happened outside the game and another movie is the world outside the game?
If generally outside comics is doing something wrong, isn't wrong to do it right like comics. Batman didn't appeared in Smallville because they didn't have the rights to put Batman in the series. And no one in Hollywood does a Superman/Batman movie because... Hollywood are plenty of idiots.
Talk about things that you really know. Btw, great catch, but surely isn't a playable character, only a placeholder/random dude.
wtf? That looks like Noob in some sort of..machinery controly..thing :|
He does – either Noob or a random Brother of Shadow at least. Is it only a coincidence, a teaser for the MK fans or something deeper? Ed knows.

"So what" that you are flogging a dead horse, or what? I mean GAU could very well be influenced by the other DC games more than the comics.

If Batman didn't appear in Smallville not because of licenses, what was it? Actually a Batman/Superman movie of sort is now in the making. True, Hollywood doesn't often respect the original stories and settings – everything is overshadowed by the profits, short term or long term. Smallville had other Gotham denizens however and as far as I know they considered putting Batman in the series at one point: but Bruce Wayne would have been at such an early age were here to appear in the series??

"BEER ME!" - Noob Saibot
Just a ninja from The League of Shadows (Assassins) who shopped at "The Brotherhood of Shadows" store.
Although it kinda looks like Noob Saibot, but I'm not going to be those people. My guess?
