What do you guys think? I personally think he's a gadget character, whereas my bro says that the ring gives him power, which is why he thinks he would fall under the power character category. But i think the ring counts as a gadget personally. What do you guys think?

The ring itself is a gadget, but the ring isn't what he attacks with, it's what he makes with the ring, a superpower of sorts. Power character. What do you guys think? there are merits to each argument.the ring(the gadget) makes the creations that gl uses to attack.

It would be cool if he could sometimes act as a power charachter and others as a gadget one.

definitely a power character
definitely a power character
But take away the ring and he has no power right? I think of power characters as someone like superman, who doesn't get his power from a ring.Soloman grundy makes sense as well, being basically immortal.

Couldn't say with any certainty, but so far the function and measure of Power/Gadget characters seems to depend on their interaction with environment. It's a little less literal than the names and iconic examples imply. So far, power characters can man-handle large objects, Gadget characters are a bit more clever. In that respect, Green Lantern's pretty safely a power character, if they're willing to animate ring constructs.

I say gadget. The ring is a gadget that holds his power. What is GL without his ring? He def. can't throw a car around without it.

Is he gonna be in a video game without the ring?
The Flash is a gadget character. It really doesn't seem to be literal.

Yeah that doesn't seem to make any sense to me.Flash has powers>power character.

Power. He'll use his ring to pick up cars and slam them into people.

Cyborg appears to be a "power" character, despite him literally being covered in gadgets and his fighting style being projectile-heavy, so...yeah, "gadget" is just a really dumb name for the lightweights category, lol.
They should really abandon this power/gadget dynamic. So far it's not making much sense lol.
If GL might use his right like Flash uses his speed as in he interacts wit the environment as a regular dude so I'm going to say gadget.

I don't know if I'd put it that way. GL would seem to be a "lightweight" to me... but I'd expect him to be a power character. I guess it depends how you define it.

Well they don't JUST make shapes, the ring gives them strength and durability in the Superman range. Either way, I expect GL will do a "pick up and smash" with the cars, which seems to be all the categories are, they just define how the characters interact with the arena hazards.

He'll be gadget, but with things he'll use his power ring to pick objects up and to throw people.

Sorry about that.I don't read Green Lantern comics, only seen some stuff from the show. But it does seem likely that they'll put him in the power category just because, like you said he can"pick up and smash". But i still think he's kinda a gadgets type, since he uses the ring for all his strength, durability, shape forming, etc. And essentially the ring is a gadget,a sorta sci fi gadget,One that the bat may be jealous of.

Well, again, Cyborg is exactly the same...but he's a power character. And Flash, who has no gadgets, is a "gadget" character.
The names of the categories just plain don't fit.
