(ALERT:BIG WALL OF TEXT!!!)

So I was at EVO yesterday and I didn't even know Ed Boon and Hector Sanchez were going to be there to show off injustice to everyone. They mostly showed how the health system works, how the arenas are and how the characters use the environment depending on their strength or abilities to use the environment to their disposal, and they showed off everyone's super once there super meter was full.

The health bar is a little different than any other fighting games health bar. Instead of one layer of health bar you have two layers, your health bar appears silver at start and once you or your opponent depletes your health bar you get the second layer which is red. Also there are no types of finishing moves what so ever, once you lost or have beaten your opponent you just sit there all worn out and beaten, the victor goes into a special victory cut scene and that's it. For example, if Super Man wins then he goes flying into space says something than just flies down back to Earth.

Now the fun part of the demonstration was the environment! If you find things on the ground such as rocks then you can pick them up and throw them at each other just like how you use to do in MK4 but they break after you throw them so don't worry about throw spamming. Also they showed off the Bat Cave and if you see this big red flashing button (which there was! lol) right next to the bat mobile and you press it, the bat mobile will shoot out missiles at your opponent. There are two floors to the Bat Cave, the upper floor and the lower floor if you want to go down a floor just knock your opponent through a big giant monitor that controls the Bat Mobile and your opponent will fall and smack against a few things on the way down following up with some serious damage. After all that damage you will see these electric cables dangling from the roof. Believe it or not you can knock your opponent into these and it can help extend your com, just make sure not to jump into them or you will leave your self open to your opponent.

There's also a rack of oil canisters on the side you can throw them at your opponent, since Super Man is really strong then he'll just pick them up and toss them at you, if The Flash someone that's not as strong as Super Man get's a hold of them he'll just roll them towards you instead of throwing them at you. If you wan to go back the upper floor just knock your opponent into the elevator and you'll lay the smack down on them while you two make your way back up.

Now the Metropolis stage is where they showed off Solomon Grundy and Batman, Batman is more of a keep away and he uses his zip line to get in on opponents when he can, so his pay style is kind of like Scorpion. Grundy on the other hand is obviously more of the power house and he has command grabs which he can start off a combo with. I=Now I don't know if you guys remember but in the trailer where they showed the Metropolis stage there was a car that seemed usable as an environmental attack, they showed how Batman and Grundy would use it. Batman will slam your face into the car repeatedly and Grundy will simply just pick it up like it's nothing and slam it down on you. And of course this stage has two parts too it, one inside a big building and the outside of Metropolis, they didn't show any environment stuff in the building besides knocking each other out of it but if I remember i'll edit the post.

The last match they showed was Harley Quinn vs Wonder Woman on the Fortress of Solitude. It has two stages and you can knock someone into the Phantom Zone.

Finally the supers, Batman's is a counter and he just beats the living crap out of you and then hooks to you with his zip line and bounces off of you knocking you to the ground. Superman's is when you punches you into space and knocks you back down, Solomon Grundy grabs you punches you multiple times in the gut, slashes you once with one of the cleavers stabbed into his back and once he puts you down and your on your knees he rips his own tombstone out of his body and hits you over the head with it., Flash's super is that he zips past you runs around the world a couple of times and then he finally come back to you and uppercuts you. Harley Quinn's suoer is that she comes running to you like she;s going to punch you but instead slides under you and leaves an explosive pie and BOOM! It explodes under you, also you can combo off her super. Wonder Woman's is when she calls out her fellow amazonians I think she calls them? Sorry for my lack of DC knowledge please have mercy for me lol and she hits you a couple of times and slashes you with her sword.

That's all I know so far but if you have any questions go ahead and ask. Sorry for not having any questions to ask then ahead of time otherwise I would've asked if you guys had any questions for me to ask them. Also one more thing I have pics and i'll share them in a while, but there really not that great, Hector kept asking me to put the camera away.

When you a player loses a match their character just shows the signs of being beaten and worn out like if Solomon Grundy gets beaten he'll sit on the ground holding his head as like if his head is sore. Flash will bend over put his hands on his knees and show that he's out of breath. Wonder Woman's Super is that she'll have a few warriors come out to help her beat the crap of her opponent and once they're done she comes in and lays the smack down on her opponent.

The stage you were having trouble with is the Fortress of Solitude. It's Superman's lair basically. And it's called the Phantom Zone by the way, not the Ghost Zone. Just to let you know.

My impressions on the game is that I think that it's something fresh with the environmental damage and the multiple staged levels, sure it's not something new but in todays generation it will be pretty interesting to see how this game turns out. The community at EVO saw it as a cool game but they a lot of people are worried about balances and if it will even be worthy enough for tournaments.

Okay thanks, like I said i'm sorry for my lack in DC knowledge. Also now that I remember, the second stage in the fortress of solitude has all these weird alien like things in icicles, they didn't show any environment stuff with them but for the Phantom Zone if you knock someone in there a phantom actually comes out and starts chewing on there opponents shoulder until they get brought back into the stage.

I remember a report mentioning the shoulder biting creature. it's a very twisted idea for a DC game. Very cool.

That pretty much is the demonstration, they showed one before where they showed off Harley Quinn and Wonder Woman.

I like when Grundy slams Batman's face into the icky green slimy stuff and tries to drown him.

Sweet.

The only thing I didn't like about this demonstration was Batman.

My first issue is with his fighting stance... what exactly is that? Batman is a master fighter who uses several kinds of martial arts... and that's the best they could come up with for a stance? I mean, I know you don't spend a whole lot of time in the idle stance, but still. I really hope that's just a place holder stance and he'll have something different by the game's release.

Also, his super. It's going to be absolutely useless. The close up animation that he does before he goes into the pose where the cape is wrapped around himself is going to let people know exactly what's coming and they're not going to hit him. If you don't hit him, super doesn't activate. At least Johnny's starts instantly so it's easier to catch aggressive fighters... Batman's gives a HUGE warning before hand.

Other than the above mentioned stuff, I absolutely love what I saw. The graphics are very good and I'm liking the environmental interaction.

I agree. They could do better with his stance. And everything you said about his super is spot on, but I still like his gameplay. He seems to be very fast and fun to play.
