Personally, I liked that game, but it still could have been much better than it was.

Beginning with the roster. They didn't have to almost strictly include iconic characters, for one. But all this hoopla about iconic characters, and Goro doesn't even make the cut? He contributed to MK's impact way back then, he captured the imagination of many, but he was excluded. I guess "iconic" conveniently didn't have to extend to any characters with extra limbs, heh?

The violence: it being toned down was a bit annoying, but it didn't bother me that much. But even under a T-rating, they could have done a better job with the fatalities. Where was the Joker's Smilex fatality, and why did they get so squeamish about his barely bloody "bang bang" one?

They wanted iconic characters and tamer fatalities, but didn't include Mileena, who is iconic and has the non-gory vacuum fatality, as well as the nail-spitting or the stabbing one from MK2 that both could have worked as her second fatality, or even Tanya's neck-breaker, or Kabal and Nightwolf, both pretty popular characters (especially Kabal) who both had non-gory fatalities in MK3, or Cyrax, who could have had both the world destruction and self-destruct fatalities (the former blasting the victim off-screen), and I could go on.

Stage fatalities that could have worked under the T-rating: the subway, the deadpool, the Nexus, the Pit 2, any stage with lava, maybe the Yin-Yang island. Ugh, such wasted opportunities.

Among other things, lack of alternate outfits (like an Adam West-based alt for Batman, or Catwoman's leather get-up from Batman returns), too many shared animations between the characters, and Shao Kahn's lack of taunts. No endurance fights, which Lex Luther's chapter could have benefited from. Storyline was pretty meh, for the most part.

Finally, Dark Kahn. One of the lamest bosses ever, though he had an alright design. But I think it would have been better if both Shao Kahn and Darkseid had been the final bosses, with players fighting both in the mixed ladder a la Deadly Alliance, while the sub-bosses were Goro and a DC henchman-type.

Rant over. Who else thinks MK vs DC Universe had a lot of potential, and deserves a sequel that fixes all of it's mistakes?

I liked the mini game stage transitions in that game and close combat was cool too

I would love a Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe COMIC series.

There are some fun things you could do:
Luthor + Chi Alliance
Themiscyra + Argus Island stuff. Possibly make it the Nexus point between the Universes.
Harley Quinn + Mileena BFF's
Shao Kahn and an army of Kryptonian criminals
Darkseid as ruler of Outworld and thus has a new bunch of Furies (Mileena, Sheeva, Skarlet, Sindel, Someone else) with Shang Tsung filling the role of Granny Goodness in Outworld.
Sinestro Corps Noob Saibot.
Red Lantern Scorpion.
And of course The Joker wins in the end.

I like your idea. I've thought of ideas like making an MK character part of a DC faction like the Lantern Corps, and vice versa. I also think they should introduce new characters rooted in both universes like a Green Lantern Tarkata (a non-evil one).

Making MK vs DC it's own universe separate from both the other two's canon would give writers more freedom. And since both MK and DC belong to WB, copyrights wouldn't be an issue.

Another thing I'd like in a sequel: an ality unique to Superman that references his Superdickery.
