Why did the Wii U version get shafted so hard?

Having received a Wii U from my cousin, I had planned on changing my PS3 pre-order to that console instead, until I found out that the Wii U version wasn't getting a Collector's Edition. Despite e-mailing both NRS and WB Games a couple of times, I never got a reply. Although dismayed, I decided it to not pay too much mind - I simply had wanted an excuse to start building a Wii U library.

Now I'm hearing that the Wii U version lacks quite a bit of features the other two versions have. I already know that the Wii U version also didn't get any of the bonuses from the Battle Arena, but now I'm hearing (though these could very well be false since I haven't been able to confirm) that the Wii U version lacks DLC altogether, as well as an online lobby, and connectivity to the iOS app.

What gives? You'd think that as a new console, they'd want to support it, and now that Nintendo's finally caught up (more or less) in horsepower and online functions, one would think that there shouldn't be any problem with using these features.

(inb4 console wars crap. This isn't kindergarten)

On the collectors editions..They probably think not enough people own a WiiU yet to justify them.

As for the missing features, they wouldn't just do it out of Nintendo Hatred, could be something to do with the Consoles architecture but I'm not a tech head so I can't speak that much about it.

Strange though, You'd think with it being the only "next gen" console and with the touch screen and stuff it would have more features.

Yup. All that is true. I just watched IGN have their first look on the Wii U and there is no KOTH option (no lobby), no WBID option, and maybe not even DLC (I don't know if the people playing had DLC for the game). Damn thing doesn't even have the Superman Unbound trailer option.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the Wii-U version of COD:BO2 isn't getting DLC either because the infrastructure for delivering it isn't in place at this time they said.

I'd blame the Wii U for possibly not being easy to develop for. I don't know that for certain but, it's possible.

It sure did get shafted! They didn't even bother to release it!

I went to pick up my copy yesterday and I was told at the store it's coming next week... I don't believe them.

Has it been released anywhere (I'm in Australia) or has the whole Wii U thing been a lie from the beginning?

I would ask on the Injustice Facebook page but they refuse to respond to questions about the Wii U version (seriously they respond to ANY other question but every question about Wii U is completely ignored) at least I know why now...
