Reptile has weakened throughout the series, while Ermac has become much stronger. Truth is Reptile has become to be known a one of the weaker characters simply because he's never accomplished anything.

Though I prefer Reptile a bit over Ermac, the truth is that Ermac would rape the **** out of him.

As a matter of fact, I don't think any ninja really stands a chance against him. The closest being Sub-Zero.

It's interesting you mention the weakness point. Reptile was ranked the weakest (strictly physically) in MKII, but this was balanced out since he was also the fastest (a trait of his that carried over from MKI).

It's hard to gauge the strength of the ninjas in terms of story, though. We learned in MKDA that Scorpion gets more powerful every time he is destroyed and re-manifested from hell (can anyone source this precisely for me?). Then Subzero has the medallion, so we can assume he's significantly more powerful than in the past (and perhaps growing more powerful with each moment he wears the medallion).

Then there's everyone else. I would think the nano-transformation would only make Smoke stronger, but for all we know, that may be nothing more than a repair mechanism (the latter seems more likely). Noob? Who the fuck knows. He's wraith, so maybe some deductions can be made about that. Though I imagine Reptile would have been more powerful in his devolved form. Things typically get weaker when they become more intelligent.

Reptile may be becoming "physically" stronger as he devolves, but all the fighting skills and abilities that he has developed throughout his life, may actually be devolving as well. Hence making him less strategic on the battle field and more reliant on brute strength.

It takes more than strength to win a battle. This may be what has been causing his downfall lately.

Nice to see you visiting Temp!
Anyway, there's a Universal VS Thread stuck at the top of the forum for these kinds of discussions, so please use that one instead of making these.
