This idea was for Shang Tsung. Personally I liked him the best in MK2 as opposed to MK3. The idea in this concept is that his special move (flaming skull) drains his energy and because of this he transforms into the old man while he performs the special.

I darkened and changed around the color hue of his flaming skull special effect. You'll also notice I changed the sprite for Shang Tsung to raise his knee up like he does in MK3. He didn't do that in MK2 or MK1.

Also, when he is knocked down and defeated at the end of a match, he transforms into his old self.

During his victory pose he also transforms into his old self to "conserve" his energy for the next match.

Wow, this is a great concept, and very well done! Great job! My only question is (and this may just be my computer) in the first animation, the circle that Tsung has in front of him disappears briefly when he is old, and re-appears as he is turning young again. Is there a reason for that, or am I missing something with the animation?

no you caught a legitimate error that I found after uploading and didnt want to fix because i just wanted the general concept animated. im surprised Im even doing these again considering how lazy I've gotten and the amount of patients I no longer have.

The morphing effect is flawless. Especially how everything is proportion considering you're using two different MK sprites. That must've been pain in the ass to get it right. Good work like always bro. smile
