I am going to do my first Mk animation soon and in order for it to be accurate to the games, I will need some information:

Mk1:

What is the frame rate of the Arcade version?
How fast does Scorpion's spear travel in pixels per second?
Can anyone tell me where I can find Arcade quality Fatality music and other sound effects as most of the ones I could find were crappy MIDIs?

Mk2:
Can anyone tell me where I can find Arcade quality Fatality music and other sound effects as most of the ones I could find were crappy MIDIs?
What is the frame rate of the Arcade version?

Mk3:
What is the frame rate of the Arcade version?
Can anyone tell me where I can find Arcade quality Fatality music and other sound effects as most of the ones I could find were crappy MIDIs?

Misscellaneous:
How many frames does the screen darken in during the Fatalities?
I need a picture of DA Johnny Cage when he holds the brain aloft after his Fatality.

Thanks.

Most arcade games run on 53 FPS, i just checked Mk2 and 1 and thats what they both ran at. If u want to get clips on sounds n stuff, use aces cheat (Link posted below to them), but make sure that ur using a mame emulator. With this u can stop eaither the music or the effects so u can rip out the sounds that u want. As for like how long it takes to darken the screen n stuff, i dunno for sure but if ur making an animation or summtin, just guess by looking at the game, no1 will be able to tell if its not right on. If u want a picture of cage holding the brain, go to gamestop.com and go to the MkDa section and im pretty sure that i seen a picture there of it. Sry if its no i dont got time to check right now. Hope this helps

For sounds, I have the MK1 and MK2 music CD soundtrack (all the background music). You can also record them from MAME directly by using AceKombat's cheats to disable the music. (See his thread on the forum.) There are also some sounds posted to Kingdom MK's archive. Go here:

http://web.archive.org/web/19990209113001/fighters.simplenet.com/mk/archive/wavs/

Also, I have the Acclaim release of MK1 and MK2 on the PC which contains a bunch of the MK1 sounds in WAV format, if you need those I can upload them.

As for the frames between darkening, it looks like there's the normal background, then 18 in-between shades of darkness, then the final shade of dark, so 20 frames altogether. I tested this in the MK1 courtyard anyway, there might be more frames depending on the game and/or background.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info. I think we should have a sticky thread like this, with as much information on the games as possible, so that people can make really accurate animations.

Right... Going out to play in the snow!glasses

Upload the Mk2 sounds, that would be hot. It would be better then cli[pping them myself, unless they r lower quality then the arcade sounds, like in the Snes version, iv never played the pc version.

Alot of the sounds there don't work, but I got the ones that do.
All I need now is the Mk1 Courtyard finishing music and the Mk1 Fatality.
