First off, I gotta warn you, this stuff is OLD. I drew these back in '93 when MKII had just come out and MK3 wasn't even thought of.

Second of all, I gotta warn you, there's a LOT of these. There's nine concept Fatalities and three MK parodies.

I'll tell you a little bit about each one before I post it.

This one wasn't particularily inspired. Johnny Cage knocks the guy's head off sideways instead of with an uppercut! That's creativity at work. I can't believe how badly out of proportion Jax's legs are. I'd like to say he's on his knees, but I really just sucked.



I'm very proud of this one because 9 years after I thought it up I was finally able to actually do it in Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance. I wasn't the only person to think of this move and I probably wasn't the first either. But I wished for something cool like that.



In Mortal Kombat II, Kano only appeared in the background of one of the stages (though there were rumours that Shang could morph into him...they were false). I thought that in the next game they should bring him back, but instead of ripping out their heart, he could rip out something else, their intestines! All in all, I'm not that thrilled with it.



I'm not sure who this is. Because I never coloured it, it could be Reptile, Scorpion or Sub-Zero. Possibly Smoke as well. I believe it was supposed to be Scorpion. Not that good, but I always wanted to be able to do a Fatality to a boss. Of course, when I said that, I also wanted the boss to be like Goro or Kintaro. I had no idea that future bosses would be wussy little playable characters. I love the look on Goro's face.



This is probably inspired by the Emperor from Star Wars. I just thought Raiden should electrocute the guy from a distance.



Reptile's MKII head eating Fatality, now with 100% more spine! Ok, so I wasn't very creative at age 15.



In addition to being able to do Fatalities to bosses, I wanted them to be able to do them to you. This one was probably inspired by Super Dave Osbourne (yes, I'm THAT old).



Before UMK3 and MKT ninja'd everyone to death, I had an idea for a new member of the Lin Kuei who would have the power of water, creatively named Hydro. His main Fatality was a slight variation on Kitana's kiss of death. Once again, I love the look on the Shokan's face.



This one was interesting. I had probably seen Indiana Jones too many times and then UHF came out and further cemented it in my head so I had the idea for someone, in this case Kung Lao, to Finish Him by just whipping out a gun and shooting the bastard. I love Scorp's look of "what the hell" combined with "aaah, this hurts!"



The player select screen for Homer Kombat, inspired by far too many late night Simpsons binges. Homya Blade is a little disturbing.



Sub-Human takes on Radon!



It was also in 1993 that a little cartoon show by the name of Beavis and Butthead hit the waves and convinced an entire generation of morons that the lives they led were suddently cool. My MK homage to that.
