I love human cyrax and I'm happy to see him in a fake. Fantastic sprite editing, fantastic background, there's nothing to not like about this.

The lack of lifebars isn't an issue, though the lack of shadows is (or is not putting shadows your thing? can't remember)

I feel like an old man explain this, but here it goes.

When I started out, I was ripping sprites for myself from MK Trilogy on PC. It was a tedious enough task, I didn't want to bother with the shadows too.

When I finally got MAME, every ROM had a glitch where th shadows never appeared in the game. I talked to other users who did not experience this problem. Since I felt so singled-out, I decided to keep shadows out of my fakes too.

Well done. Human Cyrax looks great. Nice ode with his old lightsaber weapon. Kai looks good too. A few questions/concerns:

1.) MK2 Jax being used for the both character edits takes away some individuality.
2.) The jail cell grating/fence looks out of place
3.) Can Human Cyrax really defeat Kahn story wise?
4.) The blood is too light and can use more shading
5.) The masked guards on the upper floor don't really fit

2. Its a little too bright but it fits with the koliseum look
3. It's not supposed to be a canon scene

5. Yeah, i didnt even notice them until i read your comment, its mostly just a useless prop, but not bad.

1. Well I didn't want to use MK3 jax and then have to go through the painful process of editing his metal arms to have skin. Since I drew a uniform on top of his shirtless body, I didn't see too much of a problem with it here.

3. Human Cyrax didn't kill Kahn. I was going to include him in the chair, but then realized all my hard work on the skull would have been eradicated by his fat ass. So I decided to throw his ass out.



I use shading. What I don't use are shadows. There's a difference.

When I draw dark blood, people say it's not bright enough. When I dry brighter blood, people say there isn't enough shading. So since I cannot make everyone happy, I just draw what's pleasing to my own eyes.

Yeah the masked guards were a last minute decision, and obviously a not-so-great one. I think next time I'll devote all my time to just the sprites and either recycle one I've had before or just use one from the actual games. Or I could get saiZero to make me one.

Hot damn, this right here is the reason I accept fakes as a type of fan-art. There's so much customization here! The only thing I think might make it better is if Kitana had longer, MK9 hair to match her MK9 costume.

This is nice. Everything looks good, but I do agree that Kitana's hair should be longer. It also took me a bit of staring to even notice the Masked Guards were even there.

I like the level of detail. Cyrax's skin looks 2d, but his outfit looks like the 3d game's graphics. I like the glow on the pulseblade, and noose.

Sweet stage. The skull throne is neat.
