That's weird, try getting a newer version of PhotoShop or trying inserting the image file instead of opening
I dunno much stuff about Photoshop anyway :/

that still doesn`t explain why when i open the gifs the bg is white. I opened a few others and it seems to use one of the colors from the pallet to make into the bg color as well. One raiden picture the bg was blue from his shirt, mileena`s bg was black from her hair, so it always messes up the image.

I use GIF Construction set professional for all my smilies, and the background color is always visible as I'm working on the image. It's not transparent until I save the image and view it.

Also, make sure you are saving the images as GIF's. Sometimes, when your temporary internet files folder becomes to large or full, IE will automatically start saving images as bitmaps.

here's what I do (and it always works). with MS paint , fill the screen with an easy to work with color. I use green. right-click copy the sprites from the warehouse, edit-paste them (or ctrl+v). select white as your secondary color and on the sidebar, click the select button (dotted line square) then click the transparent button (bottom one). drag them where you want and you're done. for characters that use alot of white, like Rayden, drag them onto your green backgrond, click white as your secondary and green as your primary, pick the eraser tool, hold right-click and rub it over Rayden. it will erase only your primary color (green). then, with the transparent button still enabled, use green as your secondary, select-square Rayden out and drag him to wherever you want.
