Well... this is my first post and I wanted to introduce myself with a bang (a small one, mind you )

Anyway, I was thinking that it would be kind of fun to have our own Fan Art Forum Mortal Kombat. We could call it something like Mortal Kombat: Fan Forum (MK:FF )

Okay, here's the idea...

We'll have a tournament of concept characters of our own design. They would have to be completed (finished pics that are coloured, etc.) characters with a brief description/background to explain his/her/it's powers and abilities. Originality is a must and bonus points will most surely be given if the concept 'fits' into MK's mythos seamlessly.

We can discuss the judging after we have enough participants involved. I'm thinking more of a members voting poll that we can open up to the rest of the forums and maybe even the site (if they'll let us ) The judging is going to take place like an MK tournament where one member goes head-to-head against another member. This will continue to happen until everyone has had a fight(winner declared) and then we'll move on to the next round.

Now this is where I think it will be even more fun (but it's just an idea at this stage...) If you win your round, instead of just taking your pic and pitting it up against someone else's already seen pic, you would have to draw another pic of your character (different pose, etc.) It doesn't have to be significantly different, just enough so that the pics don't get boring. In the end, one character-concept picture will win and that member will be the MK:FF Champion. Maybe the winner could win a T-shirt or something (I doubt it... but we can always ask )

The time frame should be a week per round. That means you get 7 days to complete you character concept and pic for the contest (after that - if you win - you get another 7 days to draw another pic.) If we get 16 people to participate, that'll generate a 4 week tournament. At the end of the first week, 8 members will be eliminated. At the end of the second week, another 4. At the end of the third week there will only be 2 members left vying for supremacy.

The contest will be based on art and concept (50/50) Not only do you have to create a wicked character, you have to make him/her/it look wicked!
