Ultimate MK3 was never released in 8-bit form (the NES pirates only touched regular MK3), but this is how it could look for the GameBoy or NES: http://z80artist.deviantart.com/art/Ultimate-MK3-8-bit-demake-450501969

The HQ2X filter could also be applied to the color version. It is a common filter in emulators.
