This is a draft chapter for the Mission Impossible fic I am writing. How do you think it looks so far? Is there anything I can do to make it better?

Note this is not the first chapter.

Mortal Kombat Special Forces: Operation Surma.(this is a place holder title I can make this the real title if you want.)

LOCATION: Sektor 7 Outworld Research Facility.
Central Computer Core. High Security Data Backup Sector.

Following a service hallway Kenshi approached a large blast door with a palm print scanner. Using a person's hand he hacked off with his sword, he placed it on the scanner and the door unlocked with a beep and clank turning the lights on it green. Opening the door he enters a small service alcove into the High Security Data Backup Sector.

Heading over to the ladder the door closes behind him and relocks with another beep and clank. Kenshi walks back only to find the lights on the door red again. It will not budge and the severed hand is useless now as it is too cold for the scanner to recognise it. There is no turning back!

"It's me Kenshi. I am in the control room." said Cyrax via his ear piece. "I have access to the security system for the computer core."

"What a coincidence. I just got inside the computer core." says Kenshi.

"The whole area is protected by a security grid." Cyrax says.

Looking around the seemingly empty area Kenshi only sees a small active gated area called "Backup A"

"I see a tape archive. That's it." He says.

That's because the laser tripwires are invisible to the naked eye. Go to night vision. I've enhanced the sensors so you can see the lasers." Jax says.

Kenshi turns on his night vision goggles and sure enough a series of once invisible red glowing lines appear between the metal support beams. 4 massive laser grids form barriers protecting the area from intruders. The beams are just too close to each other to slip through. They also extend from floor to ceiling and wall to wall.

"Looks like I can shutdown some of the beams but not all." Cyrax says.

"That's ok Cyrax." Kenshi replies back.

Then the several sets of beams go offline leaving gaps in the large grids that one can safely pass through. He carefully slips through the gaps in the laser grids.

The first one he simply walks through the hole. The second one, uses the auto wench to reach the pipe in the ceiling and moves though the second hole in grid 2. He hugs the wall to slip past grid 3. Finally he grabs the pipe and moves on all fours to slip through the final grid, katana barely grazing the beams.
Dropping back down on to the ground, he approaches the "Backup A" section. A steel security gate blocks access to the area. On it is a large sign that says "WARNING AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY!". Behind that, hundreds of blinking drives cover the curved wall. Two large robotic arms move up and down maintaining the drives.

"Kenshi you need to copy the data from the archives so I can see what's been stolen. Cyrax highlight the necessary drives." Orders Jax

"Gotcha Jax." he says. Three beeps are heard.

"Ok Kenshi, you need to use the auto wench to reach the drives, but you need to avoid the arms. They are electrified. It looks like you can shut them down for a short time by hacking the computer terminal inside." Jax tells Kenshi.

Using a laser cutter, Kenshi goes to the security gate and burns the lock open. He pushes the gate open and goes to shut off the robotic arms. They are controlled by a large server unit and control terminal. Some lines of text on the screen say:

COMPUTER CORE DATA BACKUP ARCHIVE A
ENTER USERNAME:
ENTER PASSWORD:
AUTHENTICATOR KODE:

He placed a password decryption device in a port on the server to bypass the login prompt. The screen now displayed the following text:

AWAITING KOMMAND//_

"Jax, I am at the control terminal for the tape archive but I need some help with the interface. It wants me to enter commands." Kenshi says.

"I would ask Cyrax about that. He is more of a computer wiz then me." Jax replies.

So he asks Cryax how to use the computer and is told what he has to type in. Once the sequence of commands is entered, the robotic arms go into calibration mode and shutdown for approximately 1 minute and a half. The lights on the drives go dark leaving only three of them with red lights on. Immediately Kenshi fires the auto wench to the pipe on the ceiling and hoists himself into the air.

"We're on Kenshi. I've scanned the data and highlighted the applicable drives. They are ready to be accessed." Cyrax says.

Kenshi has to lower himself to reach the red drives. But he cannot reach them without having to swing himself towards them. Once he has gained enough momentum to reach the drives, he proceeds to copy the data over to the computers in Jax's post.

Another set of laser grids is ahead but these are different. The grid moves across the hallway in 8 second intervals. The grid begins at the last set of columns and stops and disappears at the first set. As soon as that happens, another grid is sent down the hallway. The grids are moving towards him so he will have to time it exactly.

"Kenshi! I can't shut down the next set of laser grids but there will be gaps in the network that you can slip through. Keep your eyes peeled, I'll try to open up as many as I can." Cyrax says. And sure enough holes in the moving grids allow Kenshi to walk through them safely to Backup B. They were high enough for him to stand through.

Breaking the gate like the first one, he enters the room and copies the data. Now Kenshi is nearing the entrance to the Computer Core Vault. But first one more set of laser grids. This the hardest one because not only are the grids moving but another one appears every 3 seconds. The holes are also shorter so he will have to duck and roll. Kenshi slowly and carefully makes his way through this last system without rushing or being hasty. He is just about to make it to the end when the hilt of his katana breaks one of the beams.
