this thread is for discussion on my new series, monkeys in neverland, set to debut in school and internet sometime in february of 2007. the comic revolves around the fictional planet of Neverland (Please note that it is a planet, not another world or anything weird), and the four main characters: Furbox, Turk, Chee Chee, and a male fairy, Noad. Neverland is dominated by smart chimpanzee-like primates that have more advanced intelligence. The remaining element of the story is a clan of monkey-made robots with mysterious yet storied beginnings called the Black Heart Pirate Clan, or The BHP. The pirates are robotic, yet a different breed of technology that I will get into detail about further on. The clan is planning to launch an attack on the 4 friend's home island, where they will assault the village our hero's reside in to overthrow it and continue their plans. After the ship arrives at the outskirts at the shore, the residents are immediately warned. Word soon reaches the monkeys, and their close contact with the fairy princes, Jhubilee, leads to them embarking on a journey with Noad through their island to an old friend, Professor Buttkiss. They attempt to use his advice to form a rebound tactic at the pirates, and embark to their island's Capital City to build an army after discovering the problem is larger than they expected. The story is rivaled with pain, vengeance, escape, bloodshed, and loss. The comic will be posted in bits in this thread, but until then this thread will house comments. Soon I will post more info on the characters.

aight, now ill post some more about the history and the BHP:
The pirates in the comic are inspired by Razerbeard's robot army in one of my favorite games-Rayman 2 The Great Escape. Led by Captain, Andy, the robots come in many varieties, and are very advanced with joints, AI and more to allow for top-notch combat. Andy is a result of a nuclear explosion in the wastelands up north that splashed an old concoction made centuries ago by the original primitave BHP onto the remains of a robot. He studied the physics and science of robotics for a while before building an entire clan from scratch.
The series was inspired by many things. Of those are the movie Peter Pan, the website Neopets, and the series of Spyro the dragon, rayman, metal arms glitch in the system, and more. Metal arms provided the idea for the wastelands area, and inspiration for the robot designs. Rayman inspired some characters and part of the storyline, as well as the robot pirate concept. Neopets' Draik Island inspired the entire idea of an island being invaded by an old fashioned ship, along with Peter Pan. Rayman and Spyro inspired the vivid, varied islands, deserts, villages, and geography of the series. Il see if I can upload my "teaser" for the comic.
