Since 2008, I have desired to write a post-Armageddon Mortal Kombat story of my own, mainly due to my resentment towards MKvsDC's announcement. Armageddon had such a perfect cliffhanger, and it really pissed me to no end seeing Taven's ending retconned in MK(2011)'s story mode. With MKX around the corner, I have decided to take advantage of all this hype and new story bits introduced by NRS' latest title and revive my once-thought-dead 7-year-old project and share my take on the lore. Here, I will be posting character concepts as well as the occasional story synopsis.

"2 years have passed since Armageddon and the Day of Reckoning draws even closer. Connections and alliances between the realms have severed, resulting in a severe lack of cooperation and peace. Everywhere is plunged into war. Edenia finds itself torn apart by a battle between the newly crowned King Rain and Queen Tanya and Insurgent Kitana and the Edenian Resistance. The Outworld is heavily rumored to be facing a rebellion led by the Osh-Tekk, Kotal Kahn, against Emperor Reiko and Empress Mileena's regime. A vain struggle to maintain order brews within Seido, causing them invade the world they hold responsible, the ChaoRealm. Meanwhile, using stolen technology in a Tekunin-dominated EarthRealm, Sonya Blade and remnants of the Outerworld Investigation Agency, now renamed the EarthRealm Defense Forces, manage to construct a time machine. Their sole intention is sending someone back to find a gem lost sometime during the 2 year span. The gem is referred to as the Eye of Ruhsal, a powerful Edenian artifact that predates the Amulet of Shinnok, forged by Edenia's God of War himself. According to Kitana, the Eye has the capability to soften the tensions fabricated as a result of Armageddon's dominant presence. The War is far from over..."
