Mortal Kombat: Rebirth and Destruction Concepts - Baraka
Alright. To begin my posting with concepts for my MK game idea, everyone,
I present the costumes for the returning characters. Starting us off, I give you my first official design; the famed Tarkatan warrior,
Baraka!
With Baraka, he lost an eye in combat, but he didn't poke his eye out with his own blade. He lost it when he battled Mileena during the storyline of Armageddon. As for his design, he's more freakish simply due to how he is. Plus it fits a nomad, in addition to his nasty and violent tendencies.
I hope I did OK. My art's alright, but NO way is is as good as some of the others here. Enjoy it though nonetheless, guys.

Go go robo-Baraka... really, he looks like a poorly-designed robot. Plus, why do you have him not in the center of the paper? If you're going to add more characters to the whole thing, it's understandable, but if you're just going to have Baraka by himself, you should have drawn him in the center.
I don't really like this concept you gave him. He really looks like a robot with huge hands and feet with a small head. I don't like it at all. But it's at least a good start.

*AHEM* To answer your questions, this is why. A), I've done all the characters solo. B), the huge hands and feet as well as the small head is my trademark since I've found it difficult to draw small.
And I didn't even notice I made Baraka look robotic. XD It's just how my style comes off. I meant for him to look more like a barbaric race MIGHT look in terms of armor.

Not bad at all for a start man. I actually like the way you did his head. However, one thing: Baraka's mouth should be bigger than that.
As for the rest:
The legs are reminding me of something out of Transformers for some reason. Which is fine, if that was the look you were going for. Just for reference though: IceBaby is right, it does look more "robotic" than "armored". His arms don't really look "robotic" or "armored", they simply look huge.
But as you stated, this is YOUR style of drawing. People can add all of the advice and input they want (and that's cool as it helps you to become better) However if you're happy with your designs, then don't change a thing about your style. (I could not stress this enough, YOU have to be happy with what you do.) Just work and practice to refine YOUR style if you like it.
Again, it's a good start Bryon. I'd like to see your takes on some of the other MK characters.
