Alright, so is this going to be a retelling of the Shaolin Monks story or are you throwing in your own plotline? Since you revised the spelling of "Monks" I'm believing it's the latter; I'm interested to see more.
I noticed, however, that you're using MK1 sprites instead of MK2. If you use MK2 sprites you can include characters such as Kung Lao and Baraka that are essential to the story without having them seem out of place compared to the styles of all the MK1 sprites. I realize you probably did it this way to match up with the old Shang Tsung.
Here are some other tips just on the general layout:
- The speech text is too small and is even completely covered up by Reptile in a certain panel. Maybe you should enlarge the text, and be sure that you place speech bubbles in the frame after the characters are in place.
- Characters that are placed further in the background should be scaled down in size slightly. The way you have it now, Reptile looks like a giant compared to some of the other character. It just adds a more realistic sense to what's going on.
- Things really got chaotic with all that fighting, but perhaps that's what you were looking for. My only iff is that I have absolutely no idea where Scorpion's head is at when he kicks Sub-Zero. It just bothers me.
But neat work, keep at it, and can't wait to see more.

This is a revision of an unfinished comic I was working on(it's on this site, here, and the Kombat Pavillion), which is a combination of the Original MKSM story and my own stupidity(read:plotline)

most of the characters will transition to MK2 sprites when the time comes, which is shown in panel one with MK1 Liu Kang, and his MK2 foot in the last panel, the entire scene is based on the intro movie (you can see the movie and compare if you want)

That's what I do, but the masked guard conversation was just some background chatter, the real speech bubbles are going to be made like what LK says in Panel one(which reminds me that I didn't write a speech bubble trail... damn).

I knew that would be a problem, and I tried it on the original, but the sprites just ended up looking distorted.
