You really dont see too many MK1 animations.

About Me
For the most in-depth, in-detail, Mortal Kombat lore analysis vids, there's only one source:

Very nice. The one thing I'd have changed is the Shang Tsung frozen sprite. I could rip a sprite of Shang Tsung when he's actually frozen in that position, which would make it look a lot more authentic.
Oh yeah, LOVE the way you did the mountaints. Great job.

Thank you for making a MK1 animation. I don't see those a lot. Or at all. I don't know. The point is I don't see them enough to remember.
I like how you attempted to make the background a more interresting than the standard MK1 background. Although I don't see how it really fits together.
I don't like the fact the frozen body bleeds when shattered... isn't the blood supposed to be frozen?
I also find it amazing how Sub-Zero can rip a frozen bodies head with the spine attached so accurately. I guess MK is really that magical.
I think adding the souls escaping is a nice touch, but it looks a little plain.
The blood effects are nice and the body crumbling was done well. I think you could have doen a better job with the body pieces. They look so puzzle-piece like. Not very visually appealing. I like the splatters on the wall.
The animation looks choppy, but I can thank my shitty browser and the fact it's a gif for that.... or maybe because I still have some alcohol in my body. I'm sure if I had a top-notch PC it'd be flawless.
Oh... and thank you for not adding a gay MK Logo Moon.

I really gotta start taking you up on these offers in the planning stage. I find I work best when I create animations in one sitting, or I just lose my groove. The mountains really do work well with this scenario.

You are welcome sir, and TY for the helpful critique. I find that netscape displays/streams all sizes of gifs without a hitch.
Fantastically super-teriffically wonderful. Yeah i love this animation, particularly because its an MK1 animation.
Love the mountains, I think they go well with the background.
I think the souls escaping the body was a nice touch.
I think the shattering and blood-flow was done perfectly.
The perfect spine when subby rips his head off really takes me back to the far-fetched MK1 days...*sigh*
Flawless. 5/5

Not bad, that's for sure.
True enough, there aren't enough MK1 animations out there *thinks whether he should try one....*.
Anyway, as I said, not bad, but I can see a few things.
- As already noted, the Shang frozen sprite could be better, doesn't look frozen at all here.
- I would've liked some lifebars an stuff, but I guess with the custom background (pretty nice btw), it kinda doesn't need em.
- The actual quality isn't to great, Sub-Zero's sprites inparticular are quite grainy (I'm guessin because of all the different blues in the mountains). Flash would've solved your problem (and now that I know you can use it heh
).
- The souls, again as mentioned, look a little flat, but a v. nice touch.
- Choppiness. Particular with Sub-Zero's walking, dunno if he's missing a sprite or you moved him along too far each time, but it looks a bit fast and not too smooth.
- When Sub is ripping the head, look at his feet. The sprites don't quite match up on top of each other and this is something I notice a lot with MK animations. It detracts quite a lot from what he's actually doing, which in this case you really want as your focal point.
- Blood - frozen, so I wouldn't expect any blood.
- The chunks, as mentioned, look a little strange, but they certainly don't look frozen.
- The blood in general. Even though I don't think there should be any blood, as this is an MK1 animation, I would've really loved it so much more if you'd have tried to rip the MK1 style blood. The MK2 blood bubble really doesn't suit the animation at all. The MK1 blood would suit it more here (plus there's loads of it, heh).
I could probably go on, but only about really minimalistic, unimportant stuff.
Still though, nice ani
