I like the lightning effect, but you should try a bit of sprite editing and makin your own background. good effort tho

Well the characters are in good posistions for doing what they are.But you seriously need work on the lightening because it looks more like a vapour.And the lightening would look better if it were not in his mouth.The background selection isnt bad I personally would've chose the graveyard...Overall 2/5

Somehow, it doesn't really seem like lightning. Just looking at the Liu Kang sprite, I get the feeling he's been hit with ice and is now frozen over. Anyone else get that, too?

Yeah brother, I was just thinking that. I think the lightning itself looks ok, but the effects on Liu are really shitty, like he just got hit with snowballs all over his body.

Well the reason its goin in his mouth is beacause I originally was going to have the lightning go into his mouth, then his stomach would explode making the skin around his abdomen burst open. But i changed the idea because i couldnt get the blood right. Thanks everyone for your comments.

Maybee put little 1 pixel sparks coming off him ?

Maybee that would make it look more like lightning, maybee a few small sparks of the lightning itsealf.

Keep at it, maybee keep trying to perfect this particular idea until you get Ye olde "wow your great" "wow your vastly improving" sort of comments.

I liked it, but ofcourse people here have to express their opinions even if they are mean (Nobody has said anything mean though), thats how you learn and improve.

I think the you should take out some of the blue on the lightning and on Liu Kang. Take out the blue on Kang and replace it with some white. Also a different backgorund would be nice maybe the graveyard or the pit 1 or 3.
If not you could always create your own background so I am going to give this fake a 2.5/5
