With a collaborative effort from my colleagues, I hope this thread will become a good source of information for artists on how to use PSP not only for fakes, but for any art they wish to create with this wonderful tool.

As of right now I have only created a small website that explains some basic tools and materials (just colors and gradients). As time goes on I will be submitting updates to the tutorial along with a lot of pictures.

This thread will also be used to answer any questions people might have which I invite all PSP users to answer if they know. Every now and then I will edit this post and the website with the frequently asked questions and their answers (links provided in this thread).

You will also see a lot of progress pictures of sprite editing and arena creations from me, saizero, and anyone else who wishes to show how they do what they do.

I am sorry, but this tutorial will be written for version 9.0 of PSP. I am not familiar with the menus of other versions.

Thanks in advance and I hope these efforts don't go in vein.

- Added how to create and work in layers.
- Added how to get sprites in PSP (the correct way).
- Added information on other tools/brushes: magic wand , eraser, dodge, and burn.
- Added the tutorial for basic sprite editing.

I got it and updated. Is it safe to assume you will be working on the intermediate level arena creation tutorial some time soon? Or at least another beginner's tutorial with a background other than a pit/portal that feature more prop manipulations?

You don't have to create a brand new arena for these tutorials. Showing how you made one that's already finished is just as good. That way more of your time is spent explaining rather than coming up with a new idea. wink

Just made a huge update.

The MK Fakes Portal website has a new design as well as featuring fedegita's fakes now too.

BTW fed, saizero said she contacted you and said you were fine with your fakes on the site. She also said you'd be emailing me all your fakes but I haven't received them yet so I just grabbed what was available from MKO.

Holy shit i had no idea fedegita had so many bad ass fakes. Are those the ones he emailed u? I miss him...

Btw i should have the intermediate tutorial AS WELL AS a second beginners arena tutorial by next week in case anyone is wondering.

Check out the new intermediate arena creation under the Mid-Level tutorial section.

I also went ahead and added part 1 of my intermediate sprite editing tutorial. I haven't finished it yet.
